For the first time, the Memphis Grizzlies will begin listening to trade offers on center Marc Gasol and guard Mike Conley, league sources tell ESPN.

The franchise has decided that it's reached a crossroads and is preparing to weigh trade scenarios on one or both of its cornerstone veterans between now and the Feb. 7 trade deadline -- and perhaps into the offseason, league sources said.

Seems like Conley has become one of the top targets for Dell and the Pels, so will be interesting to see how the next 5-6 games without AD influences how aggressive Dell is in acquiring him.

I think Mike Conley would be perfect for this team. Him and Jrue would be dynamic.

They've been listening for two weeks. We've already spoke quite a bit

Crewz is Conley the guy at the top of Dell's wish list? Jrue, Conley, Ad and Niko on paper is a really good core.

The loss to the AD less Pels made them realize they can’t convey the pick to Boston this year by holding them until the deadline.

That’s got to be Beal.

This says to me they like what they’ve heard from the Pels and want to open up the bidding and see if they can do better.

I like Conley on the Pels if AD stays, but he’s 31. I think it’s a mistake if you end up trading AD for Tatum or Simmons and shift your window back a few years. Hopefully we can flip him if that happens.

Yes Im sure it is Beal. I think Conley could happen though. Beal is a pipe dream.

Wizards aren't considering Beal trades. Haven't been for at least 10 days.

Like I said a few days ago... if I had to bet, I would put - Lateral, small move as most likely, followed by Conley - with both of those options much more likely than an Otto Porter type deal.

And if they get Conley, the plan will be to not trade AD this summer, trying to court him over next season with Conley and Jrue beside him. I'm not a fan of it, but I am not surprised in the least

I could make the argument a Jrue and Conley back court could work better than Jrue/Beal. Beal is the better player but Conley and Jrue's style could work well together and compliment each other's game. I would be stoked about the trade but I have always been a huge Conley fan.

I think Conley would bring some of the veteran leadership and toughness this team is missing. He also gives you another option to run the offense in crunch time. Between that and bringing a bit of Grit N Grind you’d hopefully see the Pels start winning more of the close games.

It could, but you are small back there. You need a real, dirty work, solid rebounding, low usage wing next to those two.

If we were to obtain Connelly then who's it for?

I could look at his age with pros/cons. Conley has been in playoff wars and played great in them. He would give them what Rondo did plus hes just a better player than Rondo. I think he has two years after this season on current contract. Not bad either.... we wont be stuck with him at 36 years old aka Chris Paul.

Not likely at all. Love would be more likely and he is very unlikely

Are we having to dump Niko in a Conley deal?

I said it in the game thread but Conley/Jrue/AD makes a ton of sense.

It honestly reminds me of how adding Chauncey Billups just elevated the Melo Nuggets. Iverson was great but is he a great fit next to the players you are bringing him in to play with?

He is just the perfect fit for what Jrue and AD need out of a guard.

Great facilitator that can play however you need him, knows how to play with bigs. Solid defender that isn't going to back down, can get you a reliable 20ppg and get to the line a few times. Knocks down the three reliably enough that you aren't concerned about him in any line up condensing the floor like with Elfrid or Rondo before him. Has a veteran leadership and knows how to get guys to managed a season and play in the playoffs.

I think a Conley deal would require a 3rd team. And per usual, Pels would much rather move Randle in that trade than Niko

I think that is the rub for me? How do you make the salaries work and who can you offer that they realistically want?

It's unlikely they want Randle or Mirotic unless they just want to shed salary. Jackson/Diallo/Moore would be throw in pieces, not centerpieces. You almost certainly have to get them to take Solo, and picks are going to be the star and can you get away with just sending out one?

Is the Pels cost two first rounders for Conley? Is that a risk worth taking as being enough to get AD to think long and hard about staying?

EDIT: I see Crewz suggested a third team and that seems like the best bet.
