At this rate a Switch is a better investment. Now you can play with your xbox friends and play Nintendo exclusives.

Microsoft needs better exclusives!

Do not disagree, but revenue is revenue.

I don’t know man, I think Microsoft still hasn’t learned from the Xbox launch. All those features are fine and dandy, but what will really bring people to your console are the games. They need to make it to where you get a unique experience on the Xbox. Most people I know who have an Xbox ended up getting a PS4 or switch because of the exclusives and relegate their Xbox to the second console.

If that’s true, then why is Microsoft buying studios left and right?

It’s too late for this gen. Microsoft has owned up to it and is moving on to have a great next gen.

Also a Switch has HORRIBLE 3rd party support and if you have zero interest in Japanese games like I do then there is nothing to play on it.

Only a corporate slave would shite on pro consumer decisions like bringing games to other platforms. Microsoft doesn’t care about your pathetic flag waving as they don’t need it to make money.

I will disagree a little with you. Exclusives grow the numbers, but innovation leads the way.

PS2/Xbox was no contest. Sony was the king and Xbox was a new kid on the block.

Sony lost the PS3/360 battle because of innovation. The cell processors were not embraced by developers and also made for a higher price point. Microsoft came in with a more powerful (than orig Xbox) that was cheaper than the PS3. They also enhanced the Xbox Live world to really bring online gaming to consoles with ease. PS3 started to catch up at the end, but it was at the end. 360 had already reached some saturation in the market and PS3 was becoming a nice cheap blu-ray player when the price came down. Microsoft dominated the profit margins of that generation. Exclusives war became a thing towards the end.

Xbox One lost to PS4 because of innovation in the wrong place. It cut corners on horsepower for Kinect and media, while PS4 nailed the 1080P and frame rate. All of these exclusives did not exist in 2013 really, but all the multi-plats did and they looked better on PS4. That started the wave and then developers followed where the money was. Pretty much the same thing of the previous generation. Even with the mighty sales numbers of PS4, there is a solid chance Microsoft is still winning in profit this generation. At launch X1 profit margin was a little over 2 times PS4. Sony cut into the margins to gain sales marketing. Paid Xbox Live is greater than PS+. At one point by 20-30 million accounts, do not know the current numbers for Sony. Live is at 64 million accounts from the last earnings.

Sony learned from their PS3 mistake and Microsoft has been learning from their Xbox One mistake.

Exclusives are going to go where the money is. Microsoft is making a play with Xbox Live going to 2 billion devices and xCloud game streaming. Sony cannot compete with xCloud from the standpoint of availability, footprint and power when launched.

This battle will be fun to watch with the next generation. Who knew we could repeat the Cold War with gaming consoles.

Kind of like when the Germans bombed Sonic with 350lbs bombs and then got stuck in bridge traffic in Baton Rogue, because Gravy dropped a sandwich made by an OT 9.99 what you WNHI because she had a weird toenail.

Idk Darth, I believe the ps3 had a terrible start because of over innovation. Look at the launch ps3, the cell processor, the card slots, Blu-ray (this actually was a smart move) etc. It was super innovative and expensive. It also didn’t have any real exclusives for the first half. The 360, on the other hand, had great exclusives, and was designed as a pure gaming machine. So much so that the RRoD was just a bump on the road.

Come 2010, PS3 simplifies it’s console with the Slim and releases exclusives like uncharted 2, GT5, Gow3, MGS4, etc.
And turns around the Ps3 to where it was almost equal to the 360 in sales.

As for exclusives, a lot of the best selling(uncharted, Last of Us) are from Sony developers. Xbox has really be underutilizing their developers I.e Sea of Thieves (which I like) was a flop due to poor sales, halo hasn’t been well received since bungie left.

Sorry for the terrible grammar, I’m typing this on my iPhone

Who knows how it will play out? Going to be a fun go though.

HAWP had a good one last year on it.

What?
Oh, you assume the Wii U and the Switch are the same device?

Looks like Microsoft understands where gaming is going and is making the appropriate bet.

Our numerous Sony fans are correct in them needing some solid exclusives. The foundation is set though.

Another huge key in the rise and fall of the Xbox platform is tied to the Halo factor, with and without Bungie.
