There are ways Wade can talk his way out

1. “I was testing this guy to see if he really was a scammer. Turns out i was right and he went to jail. That’s all this was.”
2. “I offered Smart a scholly, to start as a freshman, and that promise that i will make him a top 10 pick. I promised his mom front row seats to every game and that we would help her son become a pro and make lots of money.”
3. “When i said i offered him ‘a deal like the rookie minimum’ i was joking. I was just alluding to how good my pitch to him and his mom was. It was taken out of context.”

Problem is if he says all that and it's not true he could be in serious shite with the feds (by way of perjury) in April... I mean the plausible deniability is there for sure, but he shouldn't say a damn thing until after the trial or at least until the judge throws out the defense argument of coaches being known participants

Literally no one is arguing against this... The argument stems over whether the admin should have acted as they did based on a media report instead of waiting for the evidence to be presented during the trial

Why can’t wade talk to them then? It’s like my boss saying “come to my office” and me telling him to frick off. I’m 100% getting fired. At least go show your face if you know you are gonna be screwed either way

That is all really cute when you are dealing with the NCAA.
The FBI doesn't frick around with bullshite. If he gets up on the stand and tries to float any of that ignorance, he will find himself in jail for perjury.
For some reason, the FBI doesn't really like it when people lie to them.
