Why am I addicted to Madden 19?

I hate this game!
-It rewards people for going for it on 4th down
-it will not allow you to blow anyone out. Up by two scores in the 4th? Your defense will now run like they have concrete on their cleats and your RB won’t break a tackle. It’s totally nerfed to keep games close.
-people play with the same teams (Cowboys, Chiefs, Falcons) and run the exact same four plays.
I play a lot and have a record of like 95-65 online. But I go on streaks where I’ll win 3 in a row then lose 3 in a row. At one point I won 12 in a row. I’m not a bad player, but this game does not reward you for calling great plays and instead THE GAME dictates what is going to happen.
NCAA wasn’t like that at all. It wasn’t nerfed. You could get beat by 50 and it didn’t matter. The game wasn’t “letting” you back in it just because you have Julio Jones on a skinny post all day.

They killed the run game a long time ago. There's literally no point in even trying to establish a run game. It's hail marys all day

I can run sometimes. But it depends on if the game is gonna let me hit holes at full speed or if it slows down Alvin Kamara before he gets to the hole and the defenders reach over the offensive line and slowly push him down.
The game decides. Which is what sucks. Too much went into the players .....”moods?”
It’s like every play they are a different person.
People you play against in madden:
Chiefs: Kelce over the middle, until you stop it....then it’s vertical throw as far as you fricking can to tyreke hill and he DIVES TO CATCH IT IN THE ENZONE! Haha 82 yard throw. Or they scramble and throw comebacks across their body
Cowboys: run middle and bounce it outside with Elliot. Toss with Elliot. Play action DEEP CROSSING ROUTE TO COOPER. And if that’s not open see what KC does above.

I forgot, nobody punts. The game will not let you get blown out so what’s the point?
I remember in madden 05 (the best madden) that the defense got a drastic BOOST on fourth down to frick over the geeks that were going for it every time. I guess that was too realistic and it drove sales down. Or it was they had to give a shite because they had 2K still around.

played every fifa since '10. got hooked on that good FUT around '15. took me until this iteration to finally kick it. its been great. i have more time to do stuff i actually enjoy. i dont smash controllers anymore. frick ea.

The game is ridiculously broken and doesn't resemble a true NFL game, but it's our only option so we've gotten used to it.

this is pretty much exactly how i feel. i never smashed any controllers but i would play so much madden draft champions shite and it really just got to the point where i didn't enjoy it. this year i finally had no urge to buy madden, i've spent the time catching up on all the single player games i missed out on in the past (was able to pick most of them up for around $20)

Not true. I was big in madden leagues the last three years excluding M19 and I didn’t lose some guys for two straight years spanning 5+ games.
M18 i played this guy in two separate leagues and went 3-0 against him in year 1. Think I ended up being 7-0 total. And this is a quality user but wasn’t quite upper echelon. He’d beat the under .500 teams and surprise a few over .500. M17 I legit made an admin ponder moving conferences because he’d played me three separate times each one wasn’t even close, including the playoff game.
ETA: I never felt like I lost a game because the game let an inferior opponent back in it. If I did lose I did something dumb like keep passing when my opponent was in max coverage, etc.

You made this up. Also, how is a boost realistic? Irl defenses do t have “boosts” wtf

I hadnt bought a Madden game in several years. Picked up 19 because I wanted to play with this years Saints. Drew nearing the end, Kamara and Thomas as toys and build around a solid defense.
I returned the game in less than 2 days. I am a guy that in the mid 2000s would have logged hundreds to thousands of hours playing Madden/NCAA getting lost in dynasty modes
the game is terrible and doesnt deserve support however till every legit football fan stops buying every year they wont get the memo.
