LSU is saying "just tell us everything will be fine in the end".
Wade, and rightfully so, is saying "I can't tell you anything at this point".
I'm not going to trash admins over this for one reason - the admins didn't cause all of this.
It's just an unfortunate situation.

Umm, they are the ones who painted themselves into this corner. They could have let this play out, but they just couldn't help themselves.

Made so much worse by an incompetent band of idiots at the top.

bullshite. They jumped to their own conclusions and acted like clowns. This is just another example of our admin completey botching another situation and creating ANOTHER PR nightmare.
Its a damn shame, really.

The admins keep using the term institutional control, which means they're throwing Wade overboard to save their own asses.
Posted on 3/14/19 at 11:04 am to TchPowDog
They could have respected what he’s going through and let it play out.

There was no reason for LSU admins to jump the gun on this one. But basically nothing they do should surprise anyone anymore

Wherever you work, if your boss called you into a mandatory meeting to discuss a potential legal issue about you (that could affect them, legally) and you decline to have that conversation, you think you should be able to keep your job (or go to work at least)?
Look, the admins have botched a lot of shite in their day - they haven't botched this, neither has Wade (that we know of yet). As I said, it's just an unfortunate situation.

The admin could have easily waited this out and conducted an internal investigation with Wade to find out what the hell is going on.
Instead they're sucking the NCAA's dick in the hope it helps them in the long run.
frick them

Wade isn't cooperating, dude. He has made it very clear that he will not cooperate until after the trial. Perhaps, that was the admin's intentions with The Meeting, which Wade declined to have.

LSU needed to understand that Wade has to say "I can't tell you anything at this point" and stand by him to the extent possible. They should have deferred to the pending trial in which Wade has been suspended and held off on any disciplinary action until after then when they could gather all the facts they need and do whatever they think is best in light of those facts.
Oh well. It was fun, Coach.

When you say, “let this play out” you mean, do absolutely nothing so we can keep our coach and keep winning games.
Now that would be embarrassing.

in a perfect world, sure.
If it comes out later that Wade paid a kid and LSU kept him on, the NCAA would come down on LSU a lot harder than if they suspended him due to caution. Just the way that works.

Not all jobs and situations are created equally. LSU's refusal to understand the situation and decision to immediately cave and hang Wade out to dry was unnecessary and will cause or already has caused permanent damage to the LSU basketball program and perhaps LSU athletics in general.

I mean... sometimes. Recently the NCAA has shown they don't really give a frick if you comply. The admin knew Wade was on tape talking about some shady shite before the season started. He wasnt suspended until right before the last regular season game. That isn't helping shite.

My boss would have called me into his office when news released back in October, not 5 months later...Don't tell me Alleva and WW haven't talked about it then.
Bottle line, LSU folded under the pressure of media instead of going to bat for WW.

lolz
Wade was more than willing to cooperate with LSU.
That is until the LSU admin, being the emotional pussies that they are, called for the NCAA to sit in on the meeting.
Because apparently doing whats in the best interest for you AND your coaches is too fricking hard if you're LSU.

I agree, there's a hell of a lot more riding on this situation than your job at Burger King.
The admin's didn't "make a decision to hang Wade out to dry". Wade voluntarily did that by refusing to have the meeting with LSU. Admins, this morning, just said they need to hear Wade say "I didn't do anything wrong" - that's all they need and he can coach.
Doesn't the fact that Wade not wanting to say "I did nothing wrong" throw a red flag for you???

They did! And Wade told admins "there's nothing more to it, you'll hear nothing else about it". That was a lie.

If that is the case, then he would have been fired for those comments...he is not, so what does that tell you.
Posted on 3/14/19 at 11:24 am to lsu2006
When it comes to the NCAA, the best way to deal with them is tell them to frick off since they don’t have subpoena power and if they try to take shite away without evidence, sue them to oblivion and enjoin they from executing anything. Nothing good ever happens when you’re an accused and you cooperate with the NCAA, they stab you in the back, UNC’s proof you can resist the NCAA and win when they investigate.
