Happy Father's Day to all y'all Dads out there!

My political views are pretty well in line with my Dad's. He's always been a staunch conservative. Probably slightly further to the right than I am overall, but that's chalked up to the generational gap between conservative baby boomers like him and conservative millennials like me, I reckon.

The man is a straight up G. Trying to be half the father for my Quattro that he was for me growing up. Can't wait to talk to him later today

Happy Father's Day, T! Nuclear family with a responsible father as head of the household is what is required to change our culture.

Yes. And my father was a democrat up until about 10 years ago. Our politics haven’t changed, just our party.

My mom and dad were registered as democrats back in the 1930s and never changed. But they never discussed politics or political races. They discussed specific issues. The big one was crime. They thought jury trials and prison were a waste of time. If you were guilty you should be taken out and shot.
Harsh? Perhaps.

Until college, much the same. College and law school moved me a bit left on social issues, but made me MORE an advocate on small government and fiscal matters. He is still more Authoritarian than me, but has moved a bit leftward on social issues in the last 20 years or so. For instance, he can now admit that a great-uncle was gay without shitting himself.

Not at all. It's been the opposite; I've influenced his views.

He almost never talks politics, but over time, I've gotten him to understand more and more that government is just one huge Broken Window Fallacy run by egomaniacal sociopaths.

For instance; he typically supported wars. Now, he's all for getting out of the ME.

Mine is definitely close to my views, but is a bit more stuck in 90s conservative than I am.

We enjoy talking politics though.

No, my father was a Mississippi racist redneck Democrat

He hated black people but said he guessed he had to vote for an Nword in 2008, he actually died before the election but my dad has been my life long example of what not to be...

My dad’s views and mine are pretty similar on most things, but he is more big government and socially conservative than I am. He was an old school dixiecrat for decades.

Very close, but I can still smell the 1960s hippie in him.

My dad never much discussed politics, but the few times it was brought up he usually took the conservative position.

My dad and grandfather were democrats up until the 80s then switched over to the Republican party when Reagan came on the scene.

I'd say I'm more of a libertarian than my dad.

My old man is military. I didn’t have a choice but to be a god fearing, flag loving, conservative American.

God bless the USA!!

My Dad's a military vet as well

Followed in his footsteps, actually.

Here's to those fathers who served! They don't make 'em like that anymore
