Cardinal Dinardo wants us Roman Catholics to donate funds to help illegal immigrants.

Ummmm, lemme see. The Cardinal would like to make their trip more comfy to illegally enter the USA; or fraudulently claim asylum, as 90% of the asylum seekers do; with our generous donations. OK, I can do that, but there is another alternative. I can send money to DJT's campaign, and by reelecting him, he can do something to discourage these economic benefit seekers from dangerously making that trip which is plagued by rapes, child molestation, children dying due to extreme conditions, and a plethora of other dangers. Or, I can send money to the Cardinal, who will only make the problem worse by enabling them to increase their numbers willing to make the dangerous trip. I gotta go with Trump.

If the church wants to help illegals they can set up a mission in their home countries and work towards improving the conditions in those countries. That's what Christians do. Go out into the world and preach.

Show me any evidence anywhere in the Bible or catholic or protestant teachings where criminals should not be punished and a country must accept, house, cloth, and feed anyone who shows up anywhere or they are not true Christians. I'll wait.

I am a strong practicing Catholic and absolutely agree with the OP. Enabling ILLEGAL immigration only increases suffering and related crimes.
If the Cardinal wants to really help the situation long-term, he would work toward creating a system that aligns legal request for migrant labor with a validated (background checked) pool of laborers.

The Catholic Church is making millions a year off of the migrant crisis. They are part of the problem. Why does HHS give grants to NGOs like the Catholic Church to process these migrants?
