Honestly, I much prefer being able to instantly type it in a search bar and pull up any video/cover/lyrics etc to any song I want as opposed to sitting and watching a TV and hoping the DEeJay plays the one I want

They originally didnt air rap or Michael jackson. They wanted to be a rock, soft rock, and metal station.
Should have stuck to that format instead of dumbing down the music.

Didn’t MJ hold MTV hostage because they didn’t want to air videos by Prince?

Millenials killed the video star.

That's convenience, downside is you may miss out on videos you otherwise wouldn't have googled. And how does this next generation have anything in common other than a bunch of people who watch what they like?
Anyways, the hype for a songs music video was cool.

I loved music videos back in the day but i really loved the box channel when i was younger and you could call in and request a song for $0.99 to be played.

I kind of miss how music was funneled to most people in the same way. We all shared a similar pop culture history.

I remember watching Prince do the “helicopter” in the “Little Red Corvette” video. I also remember seeing the “Say Say Say” video by MJ and McCartney. That was ‘82-83ish.
I also remember the launch of MTV. We were bootlegging cable from a neighboring apartment. My mom called it N*****rigging. When people asked if I had cable, I would tell them we have a N*****rig. I went to school in inner-city Houston so that didn’t go over well.

Nope. All the Small Things was one of the most famous music videos of my teen years. I cant remember the name of the video the gif is from but it's certainly not that one.
