Aikman mentioned that a plan would be to have Brees dress as the backup. That would free Taysom to be Taysom. Then Brees can still start after the bye.

If we were barely hanging by a thread after going 3-2 or 2-3 these past few weeks I could understand bringing Brees for next week but with the bye and us being 5-0 without him it’s a no brained to give him that extra 2 weeks of rest so he’s 100% ready to go for the stretch run of division games. Teddy and Murray can easily beat Arizona with the way our D is playing. Rest Brees and Kamara.
