Surrounding cities to stay in for Masters

Headed to Augusta for my first time, got drawn for a practice round. Obviously I expect everything to be expensive as far as hotels and what not but not trying to spend a fortune. Just looking for a reasonable drive in for one day if anyone has recommendations. Figured I’d stay in Atlanta, but just seen it’s 2 hours away.

I stayed in a dump of a hotel Tuesday night a couple of years ago halfway between Atlanta and Augusta. Still was over $200. Would probably just stay in Atlanta if I were to do it again and wake up earlier

We got an Airbnb type deal for a house in Augusta through a masters housing website and had no issues. Just google it. May be too late for the really good deals.

Depending on which way you're coming from. South Carolina is extremely close to ANGC. I've stayed in Lithonia and at Reynolds Plantation. Both are on the Augusta side of Atlanta, but not in Augusta.

i recommend staying in Atlanta and driving. Those motels along the interstate between ATL and Augusta are not worth the price. We got an Airbnb on the east side of ATL which helped

Thanks for the input, I guess that's more than likely what we will do. We will be coming from Louisiana so wasn't really looking to bypass Augusta and drive into South Carolina.

We staid at an air bnb on lake oconee... but it was still almost a two hour drive, so it wouldn't help you much on the time.

I have been twice. Stayed in a best western in between atl and aug. sucked but it was the first time and didn’t care. Second time we went to Aiken which is the equivalent of Baton Rouge to Plaquamine. Fairfield in with restaurants around. 1000% better and it isn’t much farther.

And if you’re wanting to play golf and not spend a ton, go to Aiken Golf Club. Very fun track.

We stayed in a hole in the wall place right across the state border in South Carolina

I don’t really care about the hotel because it’s only to sleep. We are staying at the Scottish Inns in Augusta. Came to $360 for two nights. Wednesday and Thursday. Will be there Wed Thur Fri rounds.

They are still 150 a night right now all week. 6 miles away.

Last year I flew into Atlanta and stayed in an airport hotel there, got up at about 5 and drove to Augusta.
Not a bad drive at all, but you gotta stay sober for the drive back, but you can make whoever you bring do it.
