This Auburn game hit harder than any loss in a while. Could be that I’m still spoiled from the football season, but it’s tough to get ahead, maintain a lead, and play at the level LSU played at today and still take an L. It’s especially unfortunate to see Skylar Mays play such an incredible game just to get beaten.
We created a big lead against the odds and lost it in the final moments. Then, going down by 7 in overtime, I thought it was over again, but the Tigers made a second effort and took back the lead. Should’ve known better than to get excited, but we were so close to such a huge win that it felt anticlimactic.
This was truly an entertaining basketball game, one of the best I’ve watched in a long time for sure. Sucks to lose in this fashion, playing such an elite game only to lose to a team that only stayed in the game by draining 3s.
Well, onto the next one.

It felt kind of like the A&M 7OT game to me, in a way. Felt like we should’ve won multiple times. I’d rather lose to Auburn than the Aggies though.

I haven’t been this pissed off about a basketball game in a very, very long time
I’m talking like UAB 2005

I've been busy the whole day, but I imagine tRant has been shitting on the team and spewing garbage all day.
We were not expected to win this game, played our asses off, in their house with a crazy crowd, against a very good team and coach, came back from 7 down in OT and took the lead with 8 secs left.
It doesn't feel good to lose and it hurts, but I'm proud of this team.

The melt was largely contained to the game thread and just a few posters.
Auburn fans on SECR acted like they just won the national title.

AU hit something like 7 straight 3’s ... I don’t think LSU has a shooter on the team that can hit 7 straight unguarded, let alone at crunch time. Credit to the AU shooters and move on.

That shouldn’t have mattered.
LSU had the ball up two with half a minute left and turned it over.

Mays had one turnover all game ... timing sucked but it happens. AU shot lights out down the stretch and you want to focus one one turnover?

You guys are a bag of emotions and are truly weak.explains why you are on this board and not doing much of anything else. We call that a panzy.

Loss wouldn't have hurt so much if we hadn't lost to Vandy. THAT"S the game that really hurt us. Until we learn how to play with a lead, this will continue. I know Mays only had 1 turnover but it can't happen at that point in the game.Turnovers and bad shots are our kryptonite.

We are not be a top team until we recruit a point guard!!!

The next morning and I'm not going to lie, that one hurts like a bitch. If many of us fans are hurting, I can't imagine what that locker room was like afterwards.
This ranks up there with the most excruciating losses I've watched.
Villanova, UCONN, OU the Ben Simmons year, Kentucky on the missed Hornsby buzzer beater.

I don't know why everyone is about to die over this. It isn't like football where one huge choke job can cost you a title.
I'm still laughing this morning when I think about how terrible this team is at choking up games.
They obviously have a TON of talent. Enough talent to make a small run in the NCAA. They just can't close out games and make stupid decision after stupid decision.
At some point you just have to learn to laugh at it. If not, you will be miserable.
They do this almost every game. Yesterday's choke job isn't the first and won't be the last.

Same here. I can’t stop picking out the little things that added up to another blown lead and the chance for a huge win on the road. Here’s one more:
We out rebounded auburn by 8 in the first half. Auburn out rebounded us by 18 in the second half for a 10 rebound advantage. And the biggest culprits in that advantage were their guards. The guard that hit three 3s in a row from the top of the key in the final minute plus and who hit the game winner in overtime had 9 rebounds by himself. That can’t happen. Auburn had 12 offensive rebounds in the second half and I bet he had 3 or 4 of them on the backside of shots or tipped rebounds from the bigs because jevonte and others were not blocking out.
