Not trying to start any discussion or anything just wanted to throw this out there for any college football fans...Vote for Appalachian State for the biggest upset of the year...Being a school with more of a regional fanbase we are trying to reach out to other school for some help...Vote if you would like... LINK

Thanks and I am looking forward to getting into NO that thursday morning before the game to make a long weekend out of it...GO MOUNTAINEERS!!! GO Tigers!!!

ASU definitely deserves to be there - but where's Stanford?

This ESPY is a lock for Appy State. As big of an upset as Stanford over USC was, it's still not even close to Appy over Meeeechigan.

I would actually vote for Stanford. That is a bigger upset than the Appy win.

Stated simply, it is not. Not even close. The Appy game is being talked up as the biggest upset in the history of college football.

I disagree with that. Going in to that game plenty of people knew ASU's offense would present matchup problems for a slow UM D. I don't think many imagined they would lose, but some did see it being a close game.

Stated simply, yes there are. The Stanford win over USC was a HUGE upset. And "big" upsets occur every year. Some bigger than others, obviously.

Is Fresno st winning the cws still in the votings?? I'd like to see them win it if not appy st. A divAA team upset was in the makings sooner or later. A 4 seed not only getting to the CWS but winning it? That probably wont happen again for 20-30 years.

That may be true, but Xs and Os are probably the last things that are looked at. Maybe before the game some commentator makes a comment about how Appy could give Michigan's D some problems. But then ask him to predict the outcome and you know what he'll say. But the bottom line is a I-AA team beat a #5 ranked BCS team in their own 100,000+ seat stadium. Most of the "bigness" of this upset is perception. Just like S. Fla beating W VU, on paper it looked reasonable, but when it happened it was still a huge deal. They hadn't made a name for themselves yet. Appy win > Stanford win. And they'll win the ESPY for it.

We're talking USC vs. Michigan. sorry to offend any michigan fans but the entire world has this sense that USC is men amongts boys. there for Stanford beating them on their home field is a bigger upset, that's just my opninion

the stanford win IMO meant nothing in terms of GREAT upsets. Hasnt stanford given them lots of fight recently in other games?

I hear you, but perception is such a big part of it. Michigan is still Michigan. Another example, Notre Dame's loss to Navy. Notre Dame absolutely sucked last year. Does it really surprise anyone that Navy beat them? But how big of a deal was made out of it? Just saying.
