Breaking: U.S. Soccer Federation president Carlos Cordeiro announced that he is stepping down, effective immediately.

I thought the point of Cordeiro being in place was because Sunil stepped down due to the men not making the World Cup yet now the women get him taken out after they win a cup

Was inevitable after last 48 hours.

The current VP is the new President until February 2021.

Alexi probably thinks he should get it.

Bc he’s a fricking dumbass
The approach he told the legal to take was fricking stupid
Even if it’s true it’s dumb to take from a legal stand point and will come off a sexist

Thank you to the Women's team and the US Soccer inempt legal counsel for making this happen.
Maybe we will have real, true leadership changes now.

Don’t hold your breath. MLS runs USSF.

Where is your evidence?
If Don Garber was half as devious and powerful as you think he is, he wouldn’t be wasting his time running a soccer league. You seem to think he’s playing 4D chess and tricking a bunch of billionaires into his joining failing, pyramid scheme league. But it’s clear from your posts here that you don’t understand even the very basics about how expansion fees and SUM works.
Cordeiro wasn’t even Don Garber’s preferred candidate. Kathy Carter was.
Spend less time in the conspiracy area of soccer Twitter and Reddit. You’ll be better for it. Don’t continue to spew uninformed crap all over this board.
We can both agree the leadership at the USSF sucks, though. Cordeiro somehow managed to screw up what should be the easiest part of his job. He’s clearly not capable of leading. With us hosting the World Cup in six years, the USSF needs to at least find a federation president that doesn’t stick his foot in his mouth constantly.

Do you even Soccer United Marketing bro?
Who do you think controls the majority of USSF board positions?
Who do you think exterts control over who gets to vote for USSF President?
Where I’ve you been the last 10 times I’ve broken this down in excruciating detail? Do I really have to do it AGAIN? How many times is enough before clowns like you stop feigning ignorance? If I do it yet again do think I could get it stickied?

1. Can someone tell me wtf he did to cause him to step down
2. I’m still holding out hope Kyle Martino grabs the reigns and takes us to the promised land.

What a tire fire the USSF has been the last 2 years.
Women should get equal just for ousting a Sunil puppet.

It was the latest filings in the equal pay lawsuit from a few days ago. USSF is arguing that the women don't deserve equal pay because the men are better, play tougher competition, play in more hostile environments, etc. Several sponsors expressed their displeasure, some big names started calling for him to step down, etc.

Yeah that is a really dumb argument. I’m sure there was a more nuanced argument to be made about tv revenue, guaranteed contracts, funding leagues, etc.
oh well, nobody will be shedding tears for Cordeiro, but I also don’t have any faith the powers that be will make a competent hire to replace him.

Yeah, when that came out I figured he wouldn't last much longer... it was really really bad (even if it's true)

damn thought you of all people would be paying attention
short story his dumbass told the legal team to basically say the ladies are not as skilled as the men thus they should not be paid more.
from a legal stand point its an awful position to take

I think the argument has a decent chance of winning in court, depending on the judge, but it was bound to get hammered by the court of public opinion.
