Would
He was someone Leeds was considering before the Bielsa option became real. Him, Gallardo and Heinze are going to be good managers for a long time.

Doubt he would even get an interview with our federation if the job becomes available.

It would certainly be interesting to see what Almeyda could do with a national team.
His tactics are so retro that they can be very effective when teams don't know how to deal with them. You don't really see teams press and man-mark all over the field anymore like Almeyda's teams do. He cranks a time machine back 40 years into the past.
After a rough start, San Jose was one of the best teams in MLS for the middle third of the last season, before their poor roster quality showed and they ran out of gas. He got the most out of a not very good team.
I think he'd have to simplify some things if he coached the national team, since he'd see the players infrequently instead of every day. But it could potentially be very effective.
Our national team roster is built to counterattack anyways. Why not dial that up to 11 with Almeyda and use a weird system other teams aren't used to facing? I'd be down to try that.

I mean I don't want to say anyone but Berhalter, but Almeyda would at least be an interesting step up.
