About the prospects of citizen disarmament in the near future? Virginia just quietly finished putting together their gun control package. With how easy it’s been to dupe people into giving up their first amendment rights over the last few months, it’s not a stretch to say that the second amendment might be next. Hell, they’ll probably use the Coronavirus to justify that too.

Virginia proved that citizens won't be disarmed. Governor Blackface faced stiff opposition to some of his bills. If he tried to ban guns he'll be sued and dragged to the gallows.

Not gonna happen nationally. The VA law could very well get overturned in the courts.

I was definitely in the camp of "we shouldn;t worry about a future government taking guns b/c LEOs would have to round them up and they would be on the side of the people"...well, after seeing people getting tickets and arrested for being outside of their homes in many different parts of this country, and the officers involved saying they are just following orders, we are fricked

No, I have no qualms about the 2A whatsoever. Every time an issue comes up, Americans rush and but more firearms and ammo. Currently, there are way more firearms and ammo in private citizens hands than current population.
Obama was the best gun salesman in our nation’s history. You will see a true revolution before you see government sweeps of firearms.

I think people bought in to the 15-Day lockdown. Then tolerated the May 1 lockdown.
But the sweet talking is wearing thin. Norther Virginia might give up their guns. The rest of Virginia? I doubt it.

They won’t totally disarm but anything bigger than a basic pistol that only holds one bullet might be in trouble

I am extremely worried and skeptical about where law enforcement falls if gun confiscation starts. I used to think over 50% would side with the Constitution. Now, in the midst of the Wu Flu Hoo Doo, I am all but convinced it would not be that favorable. The general public is constitutionally retarded (or compromised) as a whole, and law enforcement is no exception. The most likely LEOs to side with the Constitution would be sheriffs, especially those in rural areas. After that, I don’t see a lot of hope. Probably some state police departments in the South and West that serve under very strong conservative Governors.
I share similar concerns about the military should civil war break out. I don’t think it would divide as pro-2nd A as I once did. Too much liberalism has crept in during the past couple of decades. Perhaps I’m wrong about the military, but I think I’m right about law enforcement. I’m a retired LEA currently serving as a LEO.

Whats more concerning is how easily they've done this with Trump in the Whitehouse . A supposed supporter of the second amendment . Trump hasnt said shite about Virginia at all . Nothing . Why is that ? At a minimum he should be calling out these radical fricks .

Id love to know what the laws are in VA regarding the power of the sheriffs.
Im in IL, not Chicago, and local sheriffs do not want lawsuits for violating constitutional and civil rights. Also, here the sheriffs could technically arrest the Governor.
There is already lawsuits filed too because of the extended proclamation since state law says the governor cannot close the state for more than 30 days.

Yes he has. He has acknowledged that those people have the rights to challenge their state in the way they see fit. That is why the media asked why he was encouraging protestors to fight the VA governor and state.

It’s just a matter of time. I think UN troops will be used to round up guns door to door in the near future

I’m in my native homeland of a
Alabama this weekend and the only way you can get in an Academy is if you are buying guns or ammo so I’m gonna say they are safe from tyranny for the moment
