How about a UV two part system for sanitizing?

UV light destroys COVID. Unfortunately, Ultra Violet light is also very bad for human skin.
How about a "hand box" that is activated when a chipped or rfid glove is inserted? The glove would protect the skin from UV, but destroy the virus.
Seems like this could be made cost efficient and be at cash registers, doctors offices, etc. It could be done between customers or patients.

Probably a lot more expensive and less practical than a squirt of alcohol or a disposable rubber glove. Especially with the engineering it would take to make it idiot proof. Someone would find a way to look directly at the light or burn themselves and there would be a lawsuit. If they are anything like the UV light system in my AC, the bulbs aren’t cheap, run hot, and only last a couple years if they are kept clean.

All i know is liberals refuse to believe light and heat both destroy Covid. It’s a very weak virus until it makes it into lungs.

Chinese already using robots with high powered UV lamps on them to roam through hospitals to sanitize for wu-flu

How would the glove protect the hand but destroy the virus, exactly? Wouldn't virus on your hands still be inside the glove with your hands...?
Even with clear gloves, UV doesn't penetrate.
Is the idea here to always wear gloves? Now people have to wear masks AND gloves?

Not necessary. There is “far UV” that still kills it but is no harm to skin and eyes.
This should be rolling out like 25 cent double cheeseburgers.

How about you think about the logistics involved and the 2nd and 3rd order effects of subjecting people to intense UV-C light emitters. Nobody in their right mind would set themselves up for that lawsuit down the road.

Y'all might think I'm nuts but when this Corona thing started I made a UV light box for the crap we carry around all day. It's real easy when you come home to toss everything in there and blast it for a minute or two.
The ingredients are: Harbor Freight ammo box, an old lamp cord with socket, UVC bulb from Ebay (~$25), reflective duct tape.

Yo, that's really clever, well done!

That’s a good idea if your bulb is really UVC. Some of the china garbage isn’t much more than blue light outside of UV wavelength.
Make sure the manufacturer of the bulb is reputable.
I would also try to put something in there to raise up the objects and put some mirrors or mirror on the bottom. Or another bulb.

Nice. Makes my hand washing station I built for my truck look weak.
I’m going to have to rig one up for my truck. People like my hand washing station but wait til they see your invention being used in the parking lot.

I have one of those lights. I use it in each room of my house once per week for about 15 to 30 minutes each. It works better than I could have anticipated.

What's really nutty is that you trust some import fleabay crap to be what it actually says and isn't some mains-connected shock hazard.

"I thought to myself, I thought 'iffen it's good for my gloves, then it's real good for my face.' So I stuck my face up in there. Now I can't see. Lucky for me, I called Boosie and he said he might could get me paid."

Where can I get a safe bulb?

I've been wondering why you couldn't put china flu patients on some type of transfusion machine. One that would pump blood out, run it under a UV light, then shoot your blood right back in.

That system already exists for blood and works great
Covid isn't in the blood though, it's in your actual lung tissue.

I realize that, I was just thinking that a supply of treated blood, might help fight the virus.

In this case, nah. The UV doesn't stay in the blood like a medicine or other chemical, it just kills cells and DNA it hits. It would kill some of the blood cells passing through, too. But none of the benefits of UV travel or stay with the blood - it needs to hit the virus directly to kill it.
And unfortunately, UV doesn't penetrate into tissue at all, which is why even shining a UV bulb inside the lungs themselves would only kill virus on the surface, not inside the tissue (without majorly burning the lung tissue first, I guess). And if you had fluid on the lungs (pneumonia), it couldn't penetrate that either.
The only way this would help is if you had some other blood illness at the same time, and killing that would make you healthier to fight off Covid.
