Allie Guidry, 29, had tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge last month, relatives said. She was about 20 weeks pregnant at the time. Guidry died Thursday morning after her doctors delivered the baby while performing CPR, according to her family. Madaline Guidry Conish weighed just 2 pounds at birth and remains in the neonatal intensive care unit. She was born almost four months early.

Guidry was admitted to the hospital after she tested positive for coronavirus and started having trouble breathing. Her family said she was healthy, did not have high blood pressure or diabetes and her pregnancy had been without complications.

That’s terrible

She may not have had other health issues but pregnancy can put a lot of stress on the body

This sucks, but she definitely had a certain comorbidity.

If she was 4.5 months pregnant she may have not been “healthy” based on the picture

It’s terrible she died & left behind another son but at some point whether it’s Covid or anything else people are going to have to acknowledge we have an obesity problem in this country

Yep. This is a tragic story. Unfortunately the media will push this non stop to scare people even though statistically these types of outcomes for younger people are very rare.

Unfortunate but she could’ve taken better care of herself which would’ve prevented it

Not so rare in people with BMIs over 40.

It’s truly a disservice to the public that the media doesn’t mention obesity. Yet another false narrative.

It’s a handicap or it’s the new beautiful, I can’t remember which.

Sad story.

Without sounding too insensitive... she was a very large girl. On top of being pregnant which puts strain on the body there is definitely some underlying things that made it worse.

My wife is 37 weeks pregnant and we both got it last weekend. She def had a tougher time than I did but she is doing fine thankfully.

And they dont mention it in the article. Other than her picture.

Kind of like mugshots being racist im surprised they keep putting pictures of the fat covid patients

17 year old “healthy” girl in FL recently died from covid...morbidly obese

How big was she?
She looks pretty overweight.

Don't mean to be a dick. But, it's relevant.

A pregnant mother dies and some of y'alls first reaction is, "well she was overweight" or, "she could've done better to prevent this."

Psychopaths.

Do you plan on not attending your wife’s labor? Women’s Hospital won’t allow you in if you’ve tested positive I believe
