at lunch, we sat by a guy with a tOSU cap and tOSU shirt and i had the urge to tigerbait him.

the tiger fan i was with said that it wasn't a good idea bc a) i wasn't wearing my p&g, b) tOSU isn't in the SEC and we don't play them regularly, and c) we already beat them so it's a moot point. and the guy was freakishly large.

what say you about the proper time to tigerbait?

its always proper.

you dont have to be rude in doing so though.

i often tigerbait someone in random settings and just give a laugh. letting him know that i am just messing around.

not worth tigerbaiting someone unless you also have a warm bag of urine handy.

bring it strong or don't bring it at all.

As a general rule, I think setting is key. One must use good judgment when Tigerbaiting. However, on game day all bets are off. Anyone, anywhere is fair game - women, children, the elderly - regardless of time, place or school affiliation.

i frequently tiger bait people walking through airports...they alwys have a confused look on their face then I smile and after a few seconds, they know what it was about. I tiger baited a guy in a georgia shirt the other day and he said "I was Georgia born, I was Georgia bred, when I die I'll be Georgia Red!" Then I laughed and repeated tigerbait. It is all in good fun to me.

I think this is key. I saw some OSU fans in the airport one day a few weeks before the BCSNG and tigerbaited them, but it was obvious why. We had a game with them soon. Since the game is already past, they aren't really tigerbait anymore. SEC teams are ok because of the proximity and the likelihood that they will be played in the near future.

IMO, as long as you say it jokingly, no one will get panties in a wad. Saying it with a smile and chuckle will ensure it's received the right way. No need to be snide and rub it in that we won the game in January. I'm sure the guy already knows that.

If it's an SEC fan, anytime, but with a smile. My kids have friends whose parents are :Georgia, Auburn, Bammer, Florida, and Tennessee fans---I know cause they wear their gear.

Last couple years have been good. I've been known to say "Okay, see you later. Oh, I almost forgot.....and, uh, Tigerbait."

My son, who is 15, gets a little grief from these kids, he just looks at them and says "Crystal Football, Baby"
