Holes like that, Webb 10 and Webb 14 are all examples of short but holes that demand a good tee shot and a delicate second shot.
Par 4 holes don’t need to be long to be challenging.

Anyone else remember 4?

I remember #4, but don't recall it standing out as a great short hole - I thought #10 was pretty interesting. Shenny was a fantastic course, hated to see it close...#12 was one hell of a par 5.

The green was raised and it was not very deep. Traps in front and in the back. It was very hard to keep a ball on the green. The second shot had to be just right if you’d go in the back trap.
The tee shot was hum drum.

12 was the best five in the area for a long time. 1 a nice starting hole. 12,13,14 and 15 was a very tough stretch.

Good layout, but the greens were so grainy. The fairways were very good.

I know some people have talked about this course but that was before I got to the area. Where was it located?

It was in Shenandoah Subdivision east of Jones Creek and north of Tiger Bend.

They sold to a developer and now the property is all homesites.

It was short but not easy. Like most holes there it had a ton of trees and a pretty narrow fairway. The second shot was harder than most because the green wasn't very deep and you had to carry the bunker that covered 75% of the front of the green. Going in the back bunker was better for me than rolling down the back of the green. I remember losing a ball on #4 that I was 100% sure went straight down the fairway. I loved Shenandoah's course. I grew up and played most of my junior golf there. I could talk about it all day. Every now and then I'll look at old Google Earth maps of the course and relive great shots, holes, or rounds that I had there.

12 wasn't too bad if you could get your tee shot down the left side near the creek. That way you have a shot at the green or at least an easy layup.

My favorite memory of Shenandoah was #10. That's where I made my first birdie. I was 11 and didn't hit the ball very far so it took driver and 3-wood to get to the green.

The tee shot was down a narrow fairway, but yes if you busted one and got it close to that little Creek you had a good uphill shot to the green. 12 was a super hole.

10 was not a long four. It an 11 were so so. After that it was way tougher

I also hated the tee shot on #2 because of how the fairway narrows in the middle due to the two large trees on either side. I remember playing Wolf with some friends and I missed an easy putt on #2 to lose the hole. Then I chipped in for birdie to win on #3. #3 was such a difficult par 4.

3 was unfair. Skinny fairway and sloped from right to left. You could land in the right side of the fairway and have your shot roll into the left rough. The green was a turtle back green and was poorly designed for a hole that long. I hated 3

That's the short part 4 but very narrow with trees and fairway bunker, correct? Tiny green.

How old are you? I grew up on that course, as well. I've got a lot of fond memories of spending all summers there.

The last time I played there before it closed - I was 21 or so and out of golf for about two years - I shot 79. It was my first time to ever break 80 and the last time I played the course I loved! Pretty cool way to go out.

I don’t remember fairway bunkers, but trap in front and in back of really short green.

While we are on that side of town, I miss Briarwood.

I thought Briarwood had the toughest starting hole around.

I grew up playing Shenandoah.

#4 was a fun hole.

#3 not so much.

I remember a few of the holes - the one that could be intimidating was I think number 1 over the canal.
