I live in BR, but my Step-dad lives on the West Bank. He asked me yesterday to take him golfing as he wants to get out of the house. He said he hasn't played in 4 years. What courses would recommend? Let's say around $50 give or take $25.

Audubon is one of the funnest rounds of golf I have ever played.

For real go play Audubon. Really fun course. Lived on north shore my whole life and played Audubon for first time about 2 weeks ago. Very mad at myself for never playing it before.

I used to love Audubon, but When is the last time y’all played Audubon?

I played last week. It is in unplayable condition right now.

No tee boxes (literally there are no marked tee boxes on the course) two holes missing signs completely, mud puddles on the greens, etc. I was depressed playing it.

I played nov 5 and outside of some spotty tee boxes it was in really good shape. Shot 65

Maybe I was there on an off day but it was sad to see.

End of October, wasn't in tip top shape but not bad either.

Played about the same time and I thought it was fine. Did not see any mud puddles on the greens that’s for sure. We just went to the farthest tee box and played off that so we’re bit worried about tees on the box.

They haven’t put out tee markers since reopen from COVID in May or whenever that was.

We tee off back on #1. Then whoever wins hole picks next tee box. Makes for fun round. Mixes things up.

We’ve been teeing off from the signs.

But to answer your question you can get bayou oaks south for around $65 on weekdays sometimes.

Bartholomew is probably the best value in the area.

Played it two Saturdays ago. He was in better shape than it was back in October. The racks were back out. Bunkers were better(still not great). The pro said the restaurant should open back up in December. The tee markets were stolen during the beginning of covid.

Shouldn’t be too hard to cut a few 2x4s and make tee markers.

Bartholomew is fine. I’m always pleasantly surprised at how well they keep the course up. A good mix of holes in terms of difficulty too. I don’t think I’ve ever paid more then $45 to play there.

Yeah we just picked the tee box that looked like it was in good shape and was a fun shot.

Was actually planning to go back tomorrow but we picked beaver creek instead

For what you're describing, I would consider Lakewood and Grand Ridge too.

Thanks guys. The only courses I have played down there was Hidden Oaks in Braithwaite, and the old City Park North. And that was all back in the mid 90s with my dad.
