Need Backup Options for April

I booked a trip to Cancun in April for the wife and I for a getaway. We haven’t had a real trip just the two of us in a decade, and covid cancelled the stuff we have planned in 2020. It’s looking more and more like we’re going to have to cancel this one with all the hysteria restrictions coming from Washington on international travel. I booked a fully refundable reservation and my card won’t even be charged for another month so I’ve got time to see if common sense starts to prevail.

Is there any place in Florida that I could do as a backup? I’m aware Florida is in no way comparable to a Caribbean resort but we both want a beach getaway and I really don’t know what other options I have. Hawaii has just as many of not more restrictions so that’s really not an option. Any suggestions would be helpful, we both really need the trip.

Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach, FL. I cannot tell people about it enough. It’s great for a special occasion, but be warned...the prices aren’t like Cancun. Bring your wallet but so worth it.
