Anyone been fitted at Golf Tech in BR?

They’re having a sale this month and I think I’m long overdue for an iron fitting. Wondering how other peoples’ experiences with them have been.

Ya boy, Niko might be interested in this. The 3 fitters I've seen recommended on here are Buddha, club champion Metairie, and john joy at le triomph Lafayette. Golf tech seems like the next to best option in br without taking a dive.

Just go to James Leitz, dude is world renowned.

How would one contact James Leitz?

Don’t feel like traveling out of BR.

So you’re going to make a $1000 investment that’ll be a part of your golf game for multiple years but you’re not willing to drive an hour to work with a nationally ranked expert?
Just grab a set off the rack man. A fitting might take an hour too.

Is the gap between Golf Tech and a nationally ranked expert really that big that I’ll be walking out with an entirely different set of clubs and specs that don’t fit my game? It can’t be that big of a difference. Please excuse my ignorance, I genuinely have no clue, never been fitted before.
Anyway, that’s really the whole reason I’m asking the board for opinions. Maybe someone who has been fitted by both Golf Tech and a nationally ranked expert can give their thoughts.
I have been considering going to John Joy. What does he do that these chain fitters don’t? More equipment to choose from? Better tech? What's the best way to get in touch with him? Does he fit wedges too? I see Driver and Irons on there. Prices look like steals for a top 100 guy.

Call Tche Functa country club, you don’t need to be a member to see him.

yeah I was thinking of giving Golftec a try to fit my driver. Really just interested in shafts. I'm sure theyll try to give me their shaft

I'm also considering GolfTec because they stay open until 8. Hard for me to go elsewhere during the week due to work.

I was fitted for a driver at GolfTec in BR in late January. I forget how many different driver heads I hit, but it was probably half a dozen different ones in addition to my own. Narrowed it down to 1 driver and worked on tweaking the settings and different shafts from there.
I don't have experience with any other fitters, but I knew enough about the fitting process and what to look for in terms of driver launch angle, spin, etc. that I wasn't going in blind.
I was driving the ball well with my previous driver (TaylorMade SIM w/ Hzrdus Yellow) prior to the fitting. But I didn't realize just how low spin that driver was, particularly for my swing. Was hitting a lot of 1,500 RPM shots, which if you don't have enough launch angle on, will drop out of the sky. That was my miss on the course, and I saw why in the fitting.
Ended up with the new PING G425 Max, which really optimized my spin (2,100 RPM average) and dispersion in the fitting. Finally got the club from PING in late February. I've played 5 rounds with it, all on courses I play a lot. I continue to be amazed at the difference a properly fitting driver makes. I've had career long drives on 11 of the 20 holes that I can hit driver on between the 2 courses, and that's in less than 3 weeks of play.
I can't speak to iron fittings at GolfTec, but I'm a happy customer based on my driver fitting.

Do they ask you what your budget is, or if you are or aren’t looking for absolute top of the line stuff? The most important thing to me is the shaft and swing weight. I want to feel comfortable with the club in my hand and if I don’t necessarily have to choose a $1400 set of clubs, I won’t.

They did not. I paid for the fitting as well as ordered the club through them (which was in their role as an authorized PING dealer). I could have simply paid for the fitting and gone out on my own to find the same driver had I wanted to. But I knew I was going to spend the money on the driver before I set up the fitting.
I realize this could be much different for irons, since most new sets are north of $1,000.

Maybe, maybe not. That's the risk of going to a place like GolfTec. With a known good fitter you are going to know what you are getting.
At GolfTec you could get a guy just as good or you may get a guy that watches you hit 5 balls and tell you just pick a head and DG 300s because they're all the same, which isn't close to true.
Club Champion is expensive, but my local fitter doesn't charge if you buy the clubs directly from him and he charges essentially retail prices for the clubs so it didn't cost me any more than if I would have bought all the stuff myself.

Had a swing evaluation there last weekend and bought some lessons. They seem very knowledgeable.

I had a swing analysis done a few years ago and it helped a lot. Didn't realize how much I was moving my head or how long my backswing was before going there. I still go back and log in to see the videos from time to time if I get out of whack and it helps every time.

My gripe with golftec is that it’s a franchise — get as many customers in and out of the door as possible
They are overbooked and understaffed. They recently lost their manager and while the next guy up (Jacob) really takes his work serious, it just seems at times he’s overwhelmed.
ETA: for Baton Rouge location.
