Going to Galveston soon and am looking for the best places to play around the area.

Moody Gardens right on the island is good. Galveston CC is also good if you have access. If you wanna leave the island go to The Wilderness in Lake Jackson and I've heard good things about Freeport Municipal.

Just played the Wilderness last week, it is in great shape.

Magnolia Creek in League City is a great course if you have a Pro that can call them and ask for reciprocal privileges.

Moody Gardens can be brutally windy this time of year.

Timber Creek is in Friendswood which is about 40 minutes away. Bay Forest is in good shape and pretty affordable about 50 minutes away. I’m not a fan of the Texas City course. Magnolia Creek/south shore/bay oaks are club Corp places. As other have said there are places on the island to play but I haven’t been to them in a little while. Playing TimberCreek Saturday.

I recommend The Wilderness at Lake Jackson.
