Technology Tour Trip for 13yo boy

My mother takes each of her grandchildren on a trip for their 13th birthday. This summer will be the Caboose. (The 6th of 6) They've done NYC, Costa Rica, Vail, etc.
This is the most challenging trip yet. My 13yo son is interested in computers, coding, engineering, gaming. Etc. That's not very "vacation friendly" .
How do we put together a "technology trip" for him? Something to stimulate and validate his interests?
There has to be something better than visiting Steve Job's garage or whatever. Does anyone have any ideas?
This place is amazing. Many thanks to you guys!

Maybe Philadelphia, and visit the Franklin Institute? Me and a few friends went there and as grown men we were still really engaged in the exhibits. It was like being a kid again. I'm sure you can check their website and see if they have any tech related exhibits coming up
ETA: when we visited there was this device that would have you watch a video of a park scene and multiple cameras would track your eye movement. Then the video would play back a second time and a circle would indicate where your eyes were looking. At one point in the video, a girl bent over to get something off the ground and EVERY dude who tried it had the "circle" expose them on playback

Can’t really help with the meat of your OP but I think that’s fricking cool. I wish my grandparents would’ve done stuff like this for me and my cousins. That’s something your kids will always remember .
When I was in Iceland, I talked to a grandma from New York who had her 3 college aged grandkids, and she told them to pick somewhere and she would pay for it so they could go and enjoy it. And I thought that was so neat.

Cambridge, MA.
Am I being a homer? Probably. But still. MIT does tours. Boston Robotics. Etc.

Huntsville Alabama space camp. Then take a trip up to north Carolina and do some white water rafting on the Ocoee, followed by some hikes to waterfalls with swimming holes. Your kid will think your the most awesome dad ever.

When I was a kid we would be able to go and buy the tech off of them. Newest TV out there? No problem. Theu didn't want to haul it back

This is intriguing. The MIT tour looks cool. I checked with Boston Dynamics and they do not offer tours. If I could come up with a couple of things to add to the MIT experience then Boston might be leading the pack at this point.

CES in Vegas..
My only problem with this is that it's a trade show with whatever (30,000 people). I'm afraid he will get lost in all of that and just be overwhelmed.

Does he have issues with large crowds? It isn't that bad imo but I grew up there so I'm used to the sensory overload people experience there

If he were 20, CES might be fabulous. But he's 13, and traveling with grandma.
To me, this screams Silicon Valley. Assuming that grandma is fine with driving, they can easily fly SW into San Jose, pick up a car and hit:
--the Apple HQ and its famous circular building in Cupertino. No, you can't go inside, but there is a visitors' center nearby with info, exhibits, and an Apple store (of course)
--the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. LINK Appears to be Covid closed at the moment, but it will reopen at some point. Museum website has good info on current/past exhibits.
--campus tour of Stanford U in Palo Alto; gorgeous campus, and he's not too young to dream of colleges. Stanford has a Rodin sculpture garden & nice art museum too.
--the Tech Interactive, a museum of technology in San Jose. Robotics, etc. LINK
--the Intel Museum in Santa Clara: LINK
Is Grandma the luxury sort? They could spend a couple of days at the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay to leaven the lump of tech stuff. Even a 13 y o can appreciate a Pacific sunset.
