I might go there this summer, if not Orange Beach. What are some of the best courses there?

That was a fun wide open course

Steelwood in Loxley probably the best course in that area if you can get on

What about Tiger Pointe? Going to play there the end of July.

My brother and I are playing Lost Key Thursday. I'll let you know what I think about it.

Bring plenty of balls. It's called "Lost Ball" for a reason.

Is it a narrow course with a lot of OB and water?

There are holes that are 15-20 yards wide. It’s not very long though. I’ve only played it a couple of times and shot mid 80’s. That’s a good round from me. If you hit driver when it’s not needed, you better be dead straight.

So you're saying me hitting a big draw that I can't always determine where it's going to land that I should try to not hit driver?

Haven’t played Tiger Point in a few years but used to play it quite a bit. Fun course, but it’s up and down. Some years it’s in great shape, and some it’s not maintained very well. I’d say it’s your typical $40-$50 course.
If you don’t mind playing in the heat of the day, I’ve gotten Golfnow ‘hot deals’ out there for like $15.

You've got fairway and maybe 10 yards of rough on both sides before the golf balls are fish food.

Following this as well. We leave for gulf shores Saturday and looking for some recommendations

Agree with this. We’ve stayed in Pensacola beach the last 3 summer vacations and I played Tiger Pointe twice each time. One of the years it was in awesome shape, two of them not so good. It’s a nice course though. I like the layout. They also have a par 5 with an island green.
It’s pretty much the only course within 30 minutes of Pensacola beach. Lost key is about 45 min-1 hour away. Lost key is not as bad as everyone on here always pumps it up to be but the back 9 is tough, and does have several holes with OB lining the fairway on both sides with about 2 yards of rough. It’s gimmicky but most people know the reputation before they play it. Still a nice track.

It may be a bit of a drive from where you are but Cypress Lakes in Cantonment, Fl is in great shape.
Glen Lakes in Foley, Al. is fun too. Played it about a month ago.

I enjoyed Lost Key. Very lush fairways. Greens were a bit slow but rolled good. I hit plenty of fairways. Had 3 blow up holes that cost me a round in the 80s. Shot 91.

I second this, I really enjoyed that course.
Gulf Shores Golf Club is also nice.
I prefer those 2 over Peninsula, plan on playing Kiva next trip.

If you’re in Pensacola and you don’t want to play Tiger or drive around the city to get to Alabama, you can drive 20 minutes past Tiger and play Hidden Dunes in Navarre. I played last month; decent shape, uncrowded, one par 5 fairway was washed out, made into a par 3.

Do you mean the Club at Hidden Creek?
