Am I far enough out to just renew our should I expedite?

I'm 2 1/2 months in on my passport renewals and still waiting. But I would have to think 5 months is plenty enough time to have them processed without needing to expedite. But if it's something you're going to stress over, pay the extra money and expedite.

We started our kids renewal process about 2 weeks ago. They told us it would be about 18 weeks.

In theory, yes.
But, we're currently a Variant Delta. Who knows what shite hits the fan when Epsilon hits.
I would definitely pay extra for the expedited service.

Pay for expedited. Sent my renewal in by mail 3 months ago and nothing yet.

Yep. We have a cruise planned In December. When we applied we had 22 weeks till we sail. Think we will be fine on the passports, but we still haven’t made a final decision about going on the cruise.
