U.S. government-provided flights have begun to depart. Please make your way to Hamid Karzai International Airport. You should plan to enter the airport at the East Gate, which will open at 8 a.m. Please note that gates may change on a daily basis and that we will provide updates as necessary via email.
THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT CANNOT ENSURE SAFE PASSAGE TO THE HAMID KARZAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. The below access pass may facilitate passage to the airport.
Please be advised that a significant number of individuals have registered and space on these flights is available on a first come, first serve basis. You may be required to wait at the airport for a significant amount of time until space is available.

Access pass that who exactly is supposed to scan or honor? The Taliban?

Unfortunately, most are afraid to venture to the airport now.

Giving up Bagram Air Base will be known as one of the worst Military tactical mistakes in US History.

American citizens should take priority. This is nuts.

Its just a massive shitshow.
If they expected this scenario, why weren't they prepared for this?

But they flew out plane loads of camel jockeys and their families as first priority.

You’re better served to do it now than later. The Taliban is letting people through right now but who knows how long that will last.

Many of those people fought alongside our military. They were likely in great danger as well.
But definitely a completely botched plan to not have sufficient capacity.

The military isn't suppose to be there either.

I agree giving up Bagram was not a great idea but I don't think getting to a base miles away from Kabul would be any easier than getting to the airport. Bagram would be surrounded right now and all roads in and out of Kabul would still be held by Taliban.
