You are playing them in the right order for sure. If you are playing the Ridge is has a lot of elevation changes. Being short has severe penalties and the yardages can be difficult. Beautiful layout, but a tough course.

Ross Bridge is probably my favorite resort course. Wide fairways, big greens and beautiful layout. Okay the tees appropriate for your handicap. Greens are faster than they look, so I would spend more time on the putting green than the driving range when warming up.

Oxmoor has some gettable par 5s. But it would help if you have a range finder with slope.

Oxmoor Valley has a lot of elevated greens from what I recall. Any missed greens, expect some tough pitches back toward the holes. Some may be blind as well.

Hope that neither are cart path only. Ha. Eight of us played those two plus the 3 in Prattville last month. The Ridge, RB and The Judge were all cart path only and it was some serious walking. Whoever laid out Ross Bridge's cart paths wanted to tease golfers because they are way the hell away from the greens.

Both courses are bent grass greens so be prepared for pitch marks all over the place. I think overall our group preferred Ross Bridge but there were a couple who liked The Ridge better. I thought Ross Bridge was an absolutely gorgeous course and when played from the right set of tees, was very fair. Had the fairways not been damp, it could've played a bit easier - same for The Ridge. Definitely more elevation changes at Oxmoor Valley although you get some of that at RB too. You'll have a great time. Staff was wonderful at all places we played. No complaints there at all.

Ross Bridge is the absolute tits. And you have way more landing area on 18 than it appears from the box. I hit 3 wood off the tee and had 185 in.

I played both courses back in 2006 while on a Masters trip. Both are beautiful courses. The 18th at Oxmoor is called "The Assassin". When you play it, you will know why.

I'm probably in the minority but I didn't care for Ross Bridge, but it's been a while since I played it. It's not a bad course, and it's pretty fair, but I didn't think it was worth the price. Around $140 when I played it.

The Ridge is great. It does get a lot of traffic though, so the greens can be pretty beat up from the rednecks not repairing their ball marks. And I can't remember if it's the Ridge or Valley that has a lot of blind approach shots. I think it's the Ridge. Not completely blind, but the course has a lot of mounds that can mess with your line of sight. As mentioned, a lot of elevation changes. bring a sherpa for the 18th hole, though I may again be thinking of the Valley course.
