Question about WR/RB drafting strategy with first couple picks

10 team, standard scoring, keeper league. We play 3 WRs and a flex. RBs have typically dominated the scoring for the league leaders in recent memory.
Knowns
-I have 2nd pick in the draft
-My keepers will be Austin Ekeler and David Montgomery. Not really anything to blow your socks off
-Based on who I can reasonably GUESS will be keeping who, it is known that Jonathan Taylor, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones will be entering the draft unkept so 2 of those 3 will be around at my 2nd pick.
My biggest question is mulling over the dropoff from Davante Adams to the next batch of WRs when I get to pick again at the end of round 2, or the exact same question from the dropoff from JTaylor/AJones to the next grouping.
Doing some more guesswork, if I one of the RBs, the batch of WRs that will LIKELY be sitting there at my next picks (19 and 22) will be like Adam Thielen, Amari Cooper, Godwin, Julio, DJ Moore, etc. Not really a stud #1 there it seems but my RB roster would be excellent. On the other hand, if I go Adams with my first pick, I shore up WR1 (and honeslty have 2 pretty good RBs that aren't bad at all), then have all the above WRs available plus RBs like josh jacobs or swift to plug into a flex spot. That still means I've got to pick a 3rd WR waay down the draft board. I guess ultimately I'm asking what roster would you prefer:
Option 1
WR- Elite #1 WR (D Adams)
WR- Maybe like a thielen/cooper type
WR-?
RB1- Ekeler
RB2- Montgomery
Flex-?
Either WR3 or Flex would be taken with BPA with my 3rd round pick
Option 2
WR- Thielen/Cooper type
WR- ?
WR- ?
RB1- Elite #1 RB (J.Taylor or A.Jones)
RB2- Ekeler
Flex- Montgomery
Of course if the guy picking 1 picks adams this is all moot and I'll take either taylor or jones
Also, this isn't the full roster (we have TE/Def/etc) just pointing out the main positions thgat will be drafted first

Option 1 for sure. Adams is too good to pass up. Especially with Rodgers playing elite QB play again.

Thanks. Another thing I Just thought of after actually putting this down into print is that after my 2nd round pick, I've got flexibiltiy at the flex. Whereas if I went taylor/jones with my first pick, I then have to lock into WR the next few picks.

I would go Aaron Jones first personally then just hammer out wr afterwards. I feel like Aaron Jones is undervalued every year. We always talk about the guy under him taking his workload and it really never happens and Jones balls out
That would give you two bonafide RB 1s and you would be riding a rb2 with rb1 upside in your flex all year.

I do like that option as well, the only thing that scares me is that my #1 WR will be someone who isn't truly a #1 guy, my #2 will be someone I'm hoping is serviceable and my #3 WR is going to be some team's 3rd or 4th option which is a bit worrisome.
I figure I can't really go wrong either way but I do value everyone's input!

It is not as bad as you think. There is so much depth at receiver. I am in a pretty competitive 12 team league and last year I didn’t select a wide receiver until the 4th round. Ended up with Ridley , Woods, and Robby Anderson plus other good options that I picked up throughout the season. Not having a number 1 guy isn’t always bad. You can get good production with number 2s

If you can start 4 WRs in a PPR league, leave the draft with the best WRs in the league and you will make the playoffs.
Especially if you already have two PPR RBs.

That feels like a snap Adams pickup if he's available. On the other hand, if he's not, Aaron Jones feels like the choice, and then 4 of your next 5 picks are likely pass catchers.
