SW cancelled a few portions of my flights from MSY. We are headed to Washington. Has anyone used Alaska Airlines? I'm debating between them, United, and Delta. I don't know who has been more consistent this year, and never used Alaska before.

I don't like them for their constant mask reminders in comparison to other airlines, but if you'll save a few hours and not have to connect on your way to Seattle it is worth it. What's the cost difference?

The main concern is coming home on 9/18. I see Alaska has $164, Delta $170, and United $170 (theirs says flexible ticket). All three I would have to pay for check bags, which is something I didn't have to do on SW. Are those other two places better about not being asses with masks?

I have not had issues on Delta but it all depends on the flight crew that day. Maybe Alaska has stopped caring but we'll need to wait for other posters here to confirm recent experiences. If you're paying for a bag, I'd probably just take the direct

My brother is a pilot for Alaska. What are you needing to know and I'll try to get the info.

Was just a general question about them. I don't know them like the others. Are their times mostly reliable? Comfort level ok? Friendly people? I have never had a family member fly with them before.

Yes, for the most part. I've never had issues with Alaska but am currently using Delta, hoping the added competition helps bring prices down in my area. Very reliable, professional. But some of their FAs are militant.

Thanks for the information everyone. I appreciate it. My wife likes the times the best for United. She didn't like Alaska flying us in so late. Do y'all use United a lot?

They seem to be at least as reliable as Delta. Since relatives can travel free, my mom uses them quite a bit. She said that the seats are comfortable and the staff is friendly. She said that they're the preferred carrier in this part of the country.

I don't really travel by plane very often, so I asked her. Going to lunch with my brother in a couple of hours. If you have anything else that you want me to ask him, just let me know.

I fly Alaska when I can, over the other major carriers. They have more direct flights than other airlines and are on time more often (no weather delays at connecting cities).

Some of the FAs are strict with the masks, but so what?

Never really had an issue with United. They are all going to be similar really, just go with whatever works best with your schedule.

I fly Alaska a lot living in Seattle. They are very solid but as the other poster mentioned they hound you about the mask constantly.

They are the best domestic airline. Cannot ever go wrong with them.

I like them. They have great specials and two for one type deals often. I don’t think they have a baggage fee either unless mine is just free because of rewards or something.

Alaska is a good airline. I've flown them several times and it's always a good experience. IMO they are better than SWA.

They do, unless you're in that Club 49 thing.

$30 first bag
$40 second
$100 3 or more.

You get one bag for free if you have the Alaska Airlines Visa, two if you have travelled enough miles to merit MVP status.
