Madrid and Barca are not destinations for players that want to win now. With GOATnaldo and Messi gone they are a place, like PSG, for players who only care about maxing their salaries out and playing in Europe with no real hope of winning it all.

Salah, imo, will not leave Liverpool until they force him out, if ever.

Not sure why he'd want to take a step down with that move. He stays at Liverpool, if we pay him.

With the EPL global media deal I can’t see how RM is a better place than Pool for exposure and marketing

I get Spain > England to live but RM is a mess with financial challenges

Of course this is moot if RM will pay him and Pool won’t

Respectfully disagree. Real may have the more prestigious name and global following, I think Liverpool is better setup for success in the near term. I don’t see any La Liga team luring him away so long as FSG give him a fair contract.

Sure, but some people see the bigger picture. It'd be like the Yankees vs. the Cardinals. The Cardinals are a good franchise with a good history and great fans but there's something different about the Pinstripes. Same with the all-whites of Madrid.

Madrid are a dumpster fire with no sign of finding their way out. We have very different definitions of "better."

Please explain the dumpster fire of Madrid? Second in the table but with one less game played. Second in UCL group on goal difference. Some amazing young players in Vini, Rodrygo, Camavinga, Valverde, Militao, and Mendy. Players like Asensio ( ), Isco, and Hazard will be sold for huge profits. Older players like Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, and Bale will all be gone soon freeing up some wages. Still have a solid base of older players like Thibaut, Carvajal, Alaba, and Casemiro.

Madrid is closer to pulling off a second 3peat than they are being a dumpster fire IMO.

The clubs finances are in shambles. No one is going to pay any decent money for Isco and Hazard. As you pointed out, a lot of older players sucking that wage bill up.

Both the major Spanish clubs will require a few years to get back to their previous dominance. That's a long time in football. Mo Salah is 29 and on his last major contract, he doesn't have time to wait.

List the accomplishments of both clubs.

Financially they are in a bad spot, its not as bad as you make it out to be.

But with regards to training and their academy, they are not in a bad spot. They are in a pretty good spot and that should help them out financially.
