Basically the Urban League sent in undercover black people to rent apartments in Trump's upscale buildings. They were denied. They then sent white people in there and they were offered a lease. This was 1973.

Trump was sued in a class action suit. He was not the only one to be sued in that time period -- other developers in NYC and around the nation were being sued by the Urban League. This was only a couple years after MLK and the Civil Rights stuff that was going on. It was also only a few years after the "Fair Housing Act" had been passed.

Trump says that he only declined people who were on welfare and pointed them to his lower income buildings (which he had). There were black people living in his higher end apartments, but of course the Urban League ignored that inconvenient fact.

Trump only wants the money -- he doesn't care who you are as long as you can pay. His employees pointed people to buildings that fit their income. Were some of his employees biased? Maybe. This was 1973. Do you know how different things were in 1973?

People like that haven't ever seen what truly poor people live like in the US. It's never in big cities. I've seen it. I've had to come home and decompress. I have almost zero empathy, but seeing legitimately poor people live in the US takes me down a notch.

Everyone always complains about people living in such horrible conditions in big cities. They are wrong. Tell those fricks to take a drive out to rural Mississippi

I could give you story after story, but I don't want to go down that road. I will say a couple things, though. I visit roughly 50 or more high schools in a given year, and have done so in multiple states. With scary accuracy, I can tell you the makeup of the student body before I ever step foot inside the school, simply by the condition of the school. Schools with a largely minority student body are generally in worse shape than schools filled with Caucasians. This is what I've encountered in Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Texas and Georgia; all states I have worked in the past.

I also get to see high school football coaches, who in alarming numbers, concern themselves more about the futures of their white players more than the minorities on their team. The sheer number of cases I have encountered is troubling and it hurts me to my core. These are just a couple of things I see frequently.

What in the F is this? So because you are around poor black communities and schools often you are now an expert on racism? How is that make you a racist expert? Give me a break.

The idea or even thought that Trump is any more racist than Obama is despicable and complete bias because of his political party.

How many times has "white privilege" been used by the democrats? The idea that all white kids and white people grow up the same is despicable and even more ignorant than calling all mexicans illegal.

This conversation wasn't about anyone else. The topic is Trump specific.

I'm never said or acted like an expert. I simply stated what I have experienced and how it has shaped my view of racism, which is more systemic racism than individual racism. I don't have my nose up, nor am I trying to belittle or demean anyone. I just shared my views on the topic. I was guilty of stereotyping someone in this thread, and I quickly stepped away and sought another approach; what I believe to be a more constructive approach. Your aggression isn't warranted. Did you hear the message from President Trump?

(President Trump) That was a subtle way of working some mental voodoo on you. He's me president, too, so simma down.

Why would you believe that you know what I've seen? You know next to nothing about me. I've seen a lot my friend, including visits to 3rd world countries. I know what poverty is and I also know this conversation isn't about poverty.

The examples you gave of the run-down schools being black don't portray what you want them to portray. Public school systems in most states, especially Louisiana, dole out money equally. White schools in one district don't get any more money than the black schools. Often, the black schools get more. Some of the worst schools I have been to have the nicest gyms, etc. What you are portraying is a lack of caring and pride which makes those schools look shitty. My kids go to school over 100 years old that looks fantastic, because the students, faculty and parents take pride in it.

Just as you think you know everything about poor black schools, I can stereotype you into a category of people. You have blinders on, and are seeing what you want to see

Thanks for winning the argument for me. I won't waste my time speaking on things I don't know, which is basically anything about you.

That's not racist but rather stereotyping. If he hated black people or felt superior than "black guys" or "guys that wear yarmulkes" then it would be considered racist. Besides, how are those comments any different than a comedian joking about the same things?

Semantics. My rebuttal to that statement is why wouldn't he want black guys counting his money? I understand this is hypothetical, but this is what we have come to.

Very important semantics. The meaning of what was said is crucial to the interpretation & the labeling of what truly occurred.

I have no clue why he said he doesn't want black guys counting his money... maybe he would rather use them in a different capacity. Maybe there is an underlying joke there. I have no clue why Hillary said she carries hot sauce in her bag but is it really a big deal & does it make one racist?
