Every state is different. For instance, In Arkansas signage and electioneering has to be over 100 feet away from the polling place.

What are the laws on this? I saw political signs up at every polling place I passed by on my way to work, and the one I voted at. Is it a certain amount of feet the signage must be away from the place?
Every state has different laws. In Alabama, you can't campaign or electioneer within 30 feet of the door of the polling place.
I looked up the Pennsylvania law (which is where this picture is):
quote:
No person, when within the polling place, shall electioneer or solicit votes for any political party, political body or candidate, nor shall any written or printed matter be posted up within the said room, except as required by this act. All persons, except election officers, clerks, machine inspectors, overseers, watchers, persons in the course of voting, persons lawfully giving assistance to voters, and peace and police officers, when permitted by the provisions of this act, must remain at least ten (10) feet distant from the polling place during the progress of the voting.

Those 30ft laws don't work so hot in Alabama. I know at Bessemer there is basically one way in that 30ft really doesn't matter...you will he getting hit up as you approach. The line bottled up today so the campaigners got their hooks in you good by osmosis standing in line. Stacked deck honestly.

Looks like it's 25 feet in Missouri. My polling place wasn't in violation. Though I do have a hard time believing people would actually be so dumb.
There was no one out there giving out pamphlets or anything. Just signs along the fence of the elementary school, but well more than 25 feet from the door.
ETA: Thank you to whoever first mentioned the term "electioneering". Helped save me some time on googling for my state laws.
Not a term I've heard before, as I usually don't pay much attention to this stuff.

Does it depend on that particular state's election laws?
