frick Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz is very sharp regarding constitutional law and extremely conservative.

I'm not a Cruz fan because of his antics at the RNC, but I'd support his USSC nomination.

Kennedy has mentioned he may retire in near future and then there is Ginsburg. May have quite a few spots to fill.

Scalia
Kennedy
Thomas, if he wants.
Ginsburg
Breyer

Could be 7-2 for decades.

I'd rather see Gowdy as AG. He'd be more relevant.

Cruz would be perfect for the SC.

Thomas may retire too (somewhat young):

There are currently 8 -

Ginsburg is 83

Kennedy is 80

Breyer is 78

Thomas is 68

Alito is 66

Sotomayor is 62

Roberts is 61

Kagan is 56

So, for a 1-term President - 2 vacancies are almost certain. Replacing Scalia and Ginsburg would represent a shift of 1 - (assuming Trump doesn't pick stealth liberals like Souter and Kennedy). By no means certain, a 2-term Trump could make 5 or 6 appointments, with 4 being almost certain - Assuming it is Scalia and the oldest 3 sitting justices, the end of Trump's theoretical second term could see a 7-2 SCOTUS (albeit with an aging Thomas and Alito at that point).

Replacing Thomas and/or Alito would be a push in the 7-2 math. We're stuck with Kagan and Sotomayor for decades, unfortunately.

Sure Cruz ran against Trump, but so too did Huckabee and Christie and they're on the train now. It was a campaign, FFS.

Cruz did come around in the end like Ryan, and Trump would be foolish to throw away the political capital both of them bring to the table. Picking Cruz is a smart move

I believe Cruz was a Solicitor General if I am not mistaken. He has a record for all to know and judge. He could do more for constitutional law in a Justice position than he could ever do in an elected office. In fact I would not mind him being Chief Justice over Roberts.

I'd like to see Jonathan Turley nominated. Look him up if you don't know who he is.

I'd prefer Cruz stay in congress for the time being.

I'd much rather see him on the Supreme Court. Been saying that since the nomination was decided back in February or March.

And this is why defeating HRC was so imperative. She would have augmented those two with at least 4 more or possibly 6 more.

That would have sealed the destruction of the constitution. forever.

That's why I grabbed a coat and got on the Trump Train as soon as he locked up the nomination - that very minute.
