From the right?

Or was everyone working after the sun came up the next day?

Serious question

And if I see one more mother fricker post some 5 paragraph diatribe on Facebook I may lose my shite. We sat through do nothing politics for 8 years, the least they can do is go shut up and sit in the corner for 8 themselves.

I distinctly remember watching violent KKK and Russian anti-Obama protest on CNN after '08 and '12... Oh wait

Obviously not and I promise you if there had been white protesters burning effigies of Obama, they would have been arrested and prosecuted with swiftness and the media would have been raising holy hell about racism.

Some tea parties here and there. Nothing like this. Nothing even close.

There were "joy riots" from the left. Remember those?

Trump has been president elect for less than 48 hours and the trend on Facebook is that slavery has been reinstitutied, women are stripped of their rights, and all gays are going to be burned at the stake.

The only protest I ever heard about was on the Ole Miss campus.
Don't recall any riots, though.

I said this in another thread, but the logistics of protesting in areas of strong R support aren't exactly ideal.

Finding 5k Hillary supporters in a 10 mile radius in cities like NYC, Chicago, Seattle, etc. is easy and is going to get coverage. Finding 15 people that were pissed off on a Wednesday in Livingston Parish in 2008 or 2012 isn't exactly going to get on TV.

People were whining and melting on facebook but that was about it.

Social media in 2008 and coverage of it kinda sucked. Everyone said we were definitely going to be a completely socialist society by 2010 though

I vaguely remember there being a riot in my bathroom after I blew out some nasty beef stew.

I was way too drunk to drive to a protest after Obama won.

Late 2008/early 2009 after the 08 election. They had multiple protests about multiple things. What's your point?

ETA: I didn't mean to imply they were rioting. Just simple protests. I specifically remember some taking over an overpass after the election calling for impeachment.

My point is they did not become a political force until the 2010 congressional cycle which flipped the House. At best your story would be they did something minor (MINOR) in 2012.

They had multiple protests in spring 09

They may not have been a "force" but they were there.
