Championship-reversing Stat Correction Dilemma

In one of the fantasy leagues I commish ($200 buy-in, $50 weekly prizes for high score each week, $250 for season high scorer, $950 1st place, $550 second place), Player A beat Player B by 0.4 points in the championship. A few days after, ESPN made a stat correction and removed a sack from the Lions defense (Player A’s defense), causing him to lose 1pt. Result flipped to Player B winning the game. The stat correction occurred because Max Brosmer fumbled a snap and fell on it behind the LOS, which counts as a team sack (no individual Lions player gets credited with a sack). After the stat correction, the Lions defense showed 6 sacks instead of the original 7.
ESPN is the only platform that shows 6 sacks - The NFL Official Game Book shows 7 sacks, NFL.com and Sleeper fantasy platforms show 7 sacks. Other fantasy commissioners online have reached out to ESPN support and they’ve all been told that the stat correction was an error and that it should be 7 sacks. Per a thread I found last night, ESPN indicated it’s past the deadline for them to fix it back and said that League Managers can adjust scores themselves. For reference, Sleeper support indicates that 7 sacks is correct and they’re not changing it. In addition, I also found precedence of team sacks counting for fantasy points. There was a game last year where NE had a team sack and ESPN gave them a point for it
I feel quite strongly that I have to reverse the stat correction and give Player A back the win, but I’d still like some input from you guys. I’ve talked to a few other fantasy friends/commissioners and some of them said they believe I should abide by whatever my fantasy platform goes by. I strongly disagree, considering:
1. The NFL officially lists 7 sacks in their records
2. Every other platform reflects the correct 7 sacks
3. ESPN has admitted fault and advised league managers to manually adjust
4. We have past precedent of team sacks counting as a point
It absolutely sucks to do this, but I feel obligated to get it right. I know I wouldn’t want to win a championship if all that was working against me, and I don’t think Player B would either. He’s a really good player and longtime league member and I think he’ll be understanding of the call, but if he gets pissed I’ll understand that too.

ESPN adjusted it (after saying it wasn’t possible). Shows 7 sacks now and Player A is depicted as the winner again. Whew

You can manually input league history into Sleeper

If the NFL says 7 sacks then it's 7 sacks and needs to be adjusted if ESPN is not IMO.
Especially if ESPN acknowledge any possible errors.
