The best thing to do IMO is to make a note to the league explaining what happened and having the league vote via a poll on an acceptable solution.
They will probably understand and let you put him back.
Edit, looks like you put him back already. I really don't think anyone would mind.
I was commissioner of a league on a new app to me and I kept trying to move a player into my starting lineup about 5 minutes before kickoff and it would not work. So I immediately went into commissioner control from my PC and forced the player into my lineup just as kickoff was happening, 12:00 pm on the dot. My league immediately started to question what the heck did I just do.
I thought since kickoff hadn't happened it would be okay. And also if someone had come to me with the same issue I would have helped them the same way. However, since people were questioning me I decided to swap the players back and removed myself as commissioner. I didn't want the league to think I was shady at all. They told me next time to just inform the league and have a vote. However, there wasn't exactly time for that.

Dude just put them back and make fun of anyone making a big deal about it, it was an honest mistake.
at the losers saying you have to let it go, it’s a coed league for 25 dollar entry fees.

Nope. Mistakes are part of fantasy football. We had a guy last year do the same thing. It was his first year playing and really didn’t know anything about fantasy. Had to let it ride and let the bidding war begin on waivers.
Sounds like a detrimental experience for both the new player and everyone in the league who didn’t get the player who never should have been on waivers to begin with
And not all mistakes are created equally

mean, does it only list first initial and full last name?
I mean, that’s exactly how ESPN is set up.

While it's not fair to fix her mistakes, it's also bullshite that another team gets an rb1 that should have been added weeks ago. Fix it, sooner than later
