Cooper Kupp or Travis Kelce

10 man league full PPR. I have the 6th pick and after talking around with my league buddies the first 5 is looking like this:
1. Jefferson
2. Tyreek
3. Jamarr
4. McCaffrey
5. Ekeler
That leaves me with most likely Kupp or Kelce at 6 and I’m having a very hard time deciding…

Think with 10 teamers the goal is to try to maximize the best at each position you can since the talent will be more plentiful than say a 12 or 14 team league.
That's a tough decision. You might also be faced with taking B. Robinson, C. Lamb or S. Diggs as well.
To me, I'd probably take Kelce because he'd clearly offer you a positional advantage. Worry more about the Rams offense and Kupp's potential this year (Yeah, he could return to the #1 WR this year as well!
)
In a 10 teamer, you'd still have some great options at the turn in the 2nd. Possibly Garrett Wilson, Amon-Ra St. Brown. RB wise, you might see N. Chubb.

Could definitely see a Kupp/Lamb 1-2 or Kelce/Lamb. If not, I’m also big on St. Brown this season. I also have an extra flex spot so I want to load up on WRs early but don’t want to mess up the 1st pick. After a few mocks, I am also forced with the idea of a Metcalf or Olave in the 3rd unless I want to go QB. I am trying to figure out the best way to go.

Kelce Mahomes stack. Plenty of time to get quality wrs and rbs

Do some mock drafts taking each. I would go Kupp. I find that I don’t like the rest of my draft everytime I pick Kelce.
Kelce is also 33. I know TEs tend to have long careers but I am afraid to pick players that old for when they fall off the cliff.

Kelce all day. Kupp isnt a spring chicken either. Injuries last year and already a camp injury . Give me the less injured guy on the Super Bowl squad.
Your chances of finding comparable points from a wide receiver like Garrett Wilson , amon ra, olave is much more likely than finding comparable points from anyone else in the tight end slot.

3 year difference in age from Kupp to Kelce but fair about the injuries. I just don’t like my mock drafts after selecting Kelce early. Seems to throw off my whole draft, Maybe I am not putting enough weight into the positional advantage bc I have been successful in finding good tight ends late over the last several years.

Fair. In my 12 man mocks I’m still able to grab one of waddle /Wilson/ olave /Henry with my second pick (Henry will prob fly off board in my league ). Usually can get my hands on ridley /d hop / jeudy with third pick. Those are just some guys I’m really high on that seem to be there in the 12 man mocks. The rb cluster of Akers, white , Conner, Pearce , mattison doesn’t start getting slammed til rounds 4-6 from what I’ve seen. Those are some solid rbs with upside this year I’d be happy to have. In the mocks i can sometimes get two of those guys if I hammer wr early (after kelce ) and I’ll like my team. I need to compare sleeper ADP to fantasy pros bc I know that’ll make a big difference in how my draft shakes out. Prob 3 of the 12 guys in my league I’d call sharps but most of them are just drafting names they know near the top of ADP board.

I think kupp is 31. Kelce is older. Kupp has had injuries but the man is a scoring machine. He could be number 1 wr if Stafford and obviously kupp remain healthy.
Getting that at where you are picking is worth it in my opinion.

I definitely have that side of me too. I think I’m leaning Kupp.

Sometimes first rounders bust sort of speak
I had JT 1 overall last year. A lot of ppl najee Harris 1st round.
Both sucked for their ADP
You take Kelce you KNOW the man won’t bust, 100% lead pipe lock of the century will put up killer numbers

Except when it does happen

Who’s more of a safe pick to be worth the 1st round capital that you spent the 6th pick on
Kupp who’s coming off an injury and already hurt again.
Kelce who’s the WR1 on chiefs and generally never gets hurt?

He is 33. At some point he will fall off a cliff. Could be this year or could be 5 years from now. No one knows

I get that and it could be said about a lot of players. I really hope it isn’t the case this year. Kupp is just such a high risk/reward pick. Besides the triple crown year the guy has struggled to stay healthy . If he were a running back I could just handcuff I’d be ready to take him 1 overall but we don’t get that option with WRs. It’s all about how risky you wanna be with that first round pick. With the data we have at hand Kelce is the very much “safer” option.

Before last year, I don’t believe Kupp has missed a game since 2018 with the exception of one playoff game (no fantasy impact). He was out one game in 2020 regular season for testing positive for Covid.

He had 3 different injuries in 2018 alone and missed the final 6 games of that regular season.
Edit- my bad I see you said since 2018.

They are both equal in my opinion.

I’ve had him for the last several years. Besides last year, what have been his health problems?
