Going from 10-team to 12-team roster size

I have an ESPN league. Going from 10-team to 12.
What’s the ideal roster size for 12? Particularly the bench. Right now: 9 starters, 5 bench, 1 IR for 10 teams.
Also if you remove a person from the league do they automatically get a notification? Is there anyway to remove that notification? Thanks.

We do 8 starters and 8 bench, we don't use a DEF or Kicker.

5 bench + IR feels right for a 12 man. 4 is tiny and makes it a bitch to navigate byes/injuries. Not every injury qualifies for IR.
Definitely no more than 5 bench though or the waiver wire is a barren wasteland. Still want people to have to make tough add/drop choices.
