Ya the position is too thin and the talent too great to give up on Howard. Especially considering the main reason he’s done squat is bc he hasn’t ran any routes

Their WR3 is Perriman, whose talent was on display last night. They will need Howard

That's coach speak for "F*ck tight ends! How bout that Godwin though?"

None of Arians TEs in Arizona were worth anything before the Arians offense either. OJ is far more talented

Howard lost a fumble and caused an interception on a drop in Week 1. Hes also a very good blocker. I think Arians is gonna keep him blocking until his routes are more productive

He’s one of the better TE’s do not worth dropping but I’m starting Hockerson next week. Tampa Bay’s offense is so bad.

100%

doing it before Thursday would be an overreaction

doing it after Thursday is rational thinking

he is getting lots of PT but isn't even running routes

when has a TE ever been legit under Arians?

Correlation does not equal causation.

Just because Arians hasn’t had a productive TE in his previous offensive schemes, that doesn’t mean he can’t/won’t have a productive TE this year. I don’t think you guys understand how talented Howard is. This isn’t just my opinion, it’s any and every respectable NFL person highlighting how good he could be. Arians isn’t an idiot. For whatever reason (probably the fumble and interception) he scripted Howard in to block. ALSO, the Carolina LB core is very good. On the TD throw to Godwin, Winston is trying to go to Howard but he’s doubled. So, he made the right read. I’m trying to acquire Howard in my leagues. I’m still a believer.

I could see a trade of OJ in the realm of possibility. He’s a talented player, but his fit in the offense may be in question. There are definitely teams that would be buying

Too soon to give up on Howard, TE is a wasteland and he’s extremely talented.

that was a good point to make 2 weeks ago

we have 12.5% of the season's data available. it isn't good

Yea I don’t think they trade just yet, but I could see it mid season or end of season if this continues

Preseason ADP is generally more than predictive up through the first four games.

This is half the battle though

2 road games
coach acknowledges the talent
90% snaps

if you dropped every underperformer on your team youd have half a team, and youre just gonna add other guys who may or may not be good.

If OJ Howard gets Heath Miller's usage he will be a top 5 TE

so...8-12 years ago?

but he's more than just under-performing. he's invisible so far. he has 5 targets so far this year in 2 games. double that and he's still mediocre-bad

Well it’s the best TE that’s ever played in his offense. Does it not matter bc it was 10 years ago? He had a season where he was top 25 in receptions and top 40 in yards among all pass catchers and that’s before the receiving TE evolved into what it has today

Dwayne Allen and fleener combined for 71 catches in Indy for 800 yards

TB is still going to pass a ton. It’s foolish if you believed in the talent and drafted him early and are dropping after week 2

i think it just matters what the costs and value of the potential replacement are. you have to get another TE for 1-2 weeks which is expensive

No matter how you try and spin it, 2 weeks is a small sample size. He’s on the field a ton, I can’t imagine them standing firm and ignoring the fact they have a talented TE. They want to win, and it’s reasonable to believe that they improve their chances of winning by involving their really talented TE. The Arians quotes are clear to me. They are disappointed in his game play, and expect much more out of him. His upside is at the point where I’ll hold him for 6+ weeks. Because if he does figure it out, he becomes a top 5 guy instantly. The position is such garbage that holding Howard is a no brainer. I’ll have him on all most rosters here soon, people love to overreact
