I have Mahommes and Denver D/ST. Is it against conventional wisdom to play them both or is it just plain stupid?

In a pass happy, effective offense like KC you can probably get away with it.

Typically would just reduce the ceiling between the two. Mahomes could get sacked a couple times, throw a pick, and still have a solid fantasy day.

I would not do it except for maybe a few exceptions. Denver on the road at Kansas City would certainly not be one of them.

Stream a defense instead, my friend

Make those decisions independently. Always the best way.

A lot of variables to this.

- Is there a defense worth picking up?

- Is it worth dropping your current defense or a bench player?

- what does your current defense playoff schedule look like? Need to look at this both long term and short term

- Do you need to win this week to make the playoffs or have you already cemented yourself?

- Do you think you can win with a poor showing from your defense?

You play your best team regardless. If Denver is the best defense you can play, you play them. I had Lamar Jackson and the Steelers defense last year and played both of them both times they played. It worked out fine. They aren't going to score a different amount of points based on whether you start them or not.

This and this. If you only had one of the two, and would start them, then don't change that because you have both.
