Running back drama making anyone rethink draft strategy?

There’s pay drama every off-season but this feels like a bit more of a coordinated effort. I don’t expect many of any of the top backs to hold out into the season- but does anyone get the feeling that the Jacobs, Barkleys, , Taylor’s of the league aren’t going to play through minor injuries? I usually don’t take contracts into draft strategy but I’m rethinking it this year.

I wasn’t really targeting any of those guys anyway so makes my decision easier.

Yeah but if it’s late in round 2 and Taylor is still on the board, you have a decision to make

RBs are going to have to get their own collective bargaining agreement. I've been saying for years that if I were a team owner, there is no way I would invest in that position, but just find a decent RB in the draft every couple of years. I didn't think they would all listen to me at once.
It must suck to play a position with the shortest career and now they don't even want to pay for the few years you have. If something is not done, in 10 years there will be no such thing as an NFL caliber RB because the best athletes will choose to play a different position.
As for your question, I really like the zero RB strategy this year anyway unless a crazy value falls to me.
In this case, I would probably take my chances. If everyone else goes WR early, there will be enough RB value to stack the depth to offset the concerns. When everyone else zigs, you gotta be willing to zag.

Yeah good point. I’m married to Barkley as my keeper in 3rd round.
Never thought about him being a total puss and pulling a Michael Thomas with any minor injury Bc of his failure to secure a long term deal..
