30 Homerun power...and I got a pretty damn good closer in the 3rd with Rondon

Was just coming in to spring ding

Hard to find anything wrong in the first. Honestly, looking at the draft, I can't find a WTF pick at all. No real reaches early.

Yeah, I liked just about every pick to some extent. There were maybe about three picks where I thought I cant fap to this.

Nice as always, dog.

Gonna do something different for the second half of the draft and then I will be done with preseason writing for this league.

Breakout year for this cat.

Patiently waiting for some write ups.

Ask and ye shall receive:
14. Rick – It would not be a pre-season ranking without Rick starting off the year at the bottom. Maybe this star-trek loving mofo will be like Drake and rise up. I actually like a lot of his offensive pieces. Seager gots next. Springer is a 5 tool gent. Eaton looks like he’s in for a nice year in that lineup. Kipnis was great value in the draft. Pitching is not sexy but could be if Tanaka returns to form. Rick is on the right track but this dude needs to be a bit more active and not sit back another year. Make your team better, Mate!
13. Broeho - The roster seems much better than your average “13th ranked” team. For the record, 7-14 are pretty interchangeable. Bautista is your real HR threat though Prince could go off again. Love Altuve. Belt is solid. Not sure what to expect from Brantley and Han-Ram. I like Stroman and Hammels. Smyly and Pineda will do better than projected IMO. RP is probably the worst in the league.
12. LE – Seems like a rebuild for LE. E5 is the star on offense and McCann is one of the better fantasy catchers. Could actually be a sneaky good team with guys like Braun, Choo, Gardner and a potentially dangerous Pedro in Baltimore. Love the Sale / Cole combo and Zimmerman is a solid #3. Giles will break out this year. Still, it’s going to be tough for LE to make the playoffs with the roster as is.
11. Clams – I like the pieces but this team is missing the pop. As of now, there’s no one projected to hit more than 25 HRs or steal 25 bags. I do like Cutch, Schwarber, and Freeman among others but offense looks average for now. The SP is really nice though. Kershaw and deGrom is nasty. Shelby Miller is a better IRL pitcher than fantasy. Closers are nothing special. Clams has a roster to work with but I’m not seeing a contender just yet.
10. PCT – I have a mix of youth and vets that will be competitive offensively but I’m still trying to get younger. I like Franco a lot and I am high on Domingo Santana. Carlos Santana will be a top 50 bat again. Cargo, Jones and Pujols aren’t sexy but they get the job done. Moss and Rasmus are solid bench options. I really like the upside of my SP, especially Rodon and Iglesius. Salazar is a stud too. Closers are legit. Should be competitive but I am thinking this is more of a rebuild season.

9. G$ - There’s a lot to like about this team. Crush Davis and Seager are the stars but I like the gamble on Desmond. He fits in well in Texas. Conforto seems a lot like Kole Calhoun but maybe there’s more there. I don’t love the pitching. Cueto should be better in SF than in KC, but I am not a Shark fan. Everyone loves Matz though. RP will be competitive. Another playoff contender.
8. Chat – Solid offense lead by Donaldson and Posey. Gordon can win steals by himself most weeks. Kim was a nice gift off the waiver wire although he’s looked like arse in the spring. I like for the other Oriel, Trumbo, to bounce back in a big way. SP is lead by Sherzer with a few projects after that. RP looks strong. Could see Chat in the playoffs if his SP pans out.
7. JewT – My boy Jew has done work. He was so bad last year but all of his prospects have hit in a big way. Dude has Bryant, Correa and Pederson to build around. Gallo has raked so far in the spring. Sano and Buxton are promising…not sure why he did not hang on to Franco but the dude is loaded with young studs. The SP is not sexy (yet) but Thor and Nola are really good already. Don’t be surprised to see Jew in the playoff mix.
6. Gyno – Pitching lead team. Grienke, Stras and hopegully Darvish make for a nasty front in rotation. Kimbrell and Allen are top 5 closers. The offense lacks pop but fills up the other cats well enough to compete. Really like Blackmon this year and Zobrist was great value.
5. Dallas Tiger – Offensively there is a noticeable difference in pop from this point on in the rankings, but DT has some good pieces. A-Gon is the star now, but I think Upton and Puig will both hit 30 bombs this year and carry the offense. Cano is slowing down but is still better than most at 2b. I actually like where he got Lind. He is a platoon guy but I think he’ll hit 25 bombs. Not a bad bench option. Pitching looks really nice with Carrasco and Kuechel heading up the starters and two solid closers. Playoff contender.

4. Louie – I went back and forth between Will and Louie. I think Lou has more balance with a top 6 offense and probably a top 3-4 pitching staff so you could make the case to rank him higher. Harper, Frazier and Ortiz is a mash unit. Votto fills up the stat sheet and Betts will be a top 20 player for years to come. Bumgarner and Felix head up the rotation. Not a fan of Verlander as the #3 but Lou got good value in Odorizzi. 2 solid closers to rack up saves. Probably the last of the elite teams.
3. Cwill – The offense carries this team and should be good for a long time with Trout, Machado and Bogaerts among others. Lots of balance with pop and speed. No offensive weakness. The SP is not elite but Archer and Ross is a solid 1-2. 3 closers will keep him in saves each week. Definitely a contender.
2. Earl – A close 2nd, Earl has dominated this league the last few years and has the roster to do it again this year. Offensively he has a ton of versatility. Goldy and Stanton are the bread winners but he’s got JD Martinez, Miggy and Rendon who I expect to have a really solid season. Arietta, Price and Gray make for a stout front end of his rotation. Like VKC he’ll want to upgrade his RP at some point and he’ll certainly have the resources to do so.
1. VKC - Top 3 offense with a top 3 pitching staff, the defending champ looks as strong as ever. Harvey, Kluber, Fernandez and Martinez is such a good rotation. The relief pitching is nothing special but I suspect he will upgrade at some point. Rizzo, Arenado, Dozier and Nelly make for a lot of pop. There’s no real weakness with this team.
