Weird that of all the shite trades that have gone down, a legit one comes through and we are questioning it because picks were not involved

Like you said, your SP was trash this season and kept you from competing. I just fail to see how shipping out the one good SP asset you have will remedy that problem next year.

One person is questioning the deal (that probably happens with 95% of deals even if no one says anything).
I am just questioning the valuation you two have of Greinke. I agree that Smoak is the best player in the deal and Allen does nothing for you, especially with him with having a relative down year. It is a good thing people have different opinions of players.

It's not meant to be taken literal. The point is he's a perennial 40 HR threat. There are some key factors on why he's no colabelly
And if he turns in a pumpkin in the future, oh well. Part of taking a risk. I lose my 2nd best hitter in a playoff run this season for a 3rd closer (a luxury at this point) and SP depth, two guys I will ultimately throw back

Well VKC, I have all kinds of assets and have been talking deals with more than Gyno this morning. Where did I say my keepers are locked in? I would be fine with keeping 6 bats and adding a pitcher to go with Cole. He may be shite to you, but he's been the #7 SP over the last 30 days. Grienke #34.

I just think that Smoak has no track record and Greinke does. Then add Allen to the deal?
Idk. What do I know?

I would keep Cole. He is generally pretty good and could even be great.

Smoak could very well be Chris Carter...who knows.

That said, still got a lot of other players I can package to get a better keeper if someone wants to make a run.
I tried but there's less than a 5% chance I make the playoffs and when I got there would have had to have swept the hitting cats each week.

P, if Smoak's name was Aaron Judge, he would command an even better SP and RP than Smoak just did and no one would bat an eye. People would be like, "Oh damn, P just got Judge, nice get!" Judge has never hit 40 and has his own question marks
Greinke is 33 w/ 2400 IP on the ticker and Allen has had his own issues. This is a case of me rounding out a hopeful playoff roster and you gaining a possible lotto ticket for the next few years

Judge is 25 and is in the league one year. Well 1.5 technically. Not even gonna mention his size.
Smoak is 30 and this is his 8th year never hitting more than 20 with 521 pa.
Your comps are usually better than that.

I will try to explain it
1. All it takes sometimes is making an adjustment. It could be 100 ABs into a career (Judge) or 2500 ABs into a career (Smoak). Nonetheless, an adjustment is still an adjustment. There are countless examples of this, two of the greatest ones are happen to come out of the Blue Jay org - Bautista (age 29 breakout) and Encarnacion (age 29 breakout).
2. RE: Age - I shouldnt even be telling you this bc agist suckers still exist in these leagues and we've been feeding off em for year, but no one is keeping a guy past 2-3 years in these leagues. Thus, when it comes to a 25 year old or a 30 year old, age is pretty irrelevant. Mike Trout and Harper change hands every year in these leagues, "nuff said", as they say
3. Smoak was a borderline top 10 prospect at one point. However, he was almost immediately called up to the MLB, where he never really got an everyday gig. At the same time, he never got a full season in the MiLB to develop. He wasnt good previously but he was also mishandled
4. He is still 6'4" 220
These are all things a guy like P gets

I only have mobile, so can you put the pick swap on here or email it to me at tdxxvkc@gmail?

After a horrible start Gausman has been really good lately.

No thanks. Very high save total, but I like protecting ratios with my relievers if possible and the K/9 is too low.

Gyno looks like he is prepping for the real MLB playoffs with adding all these arms.
