sounds like colluding. That first trade never should have gone through with those contingencies in place.

Looking back it seems like it but both were bench players and Bell wasn't outstanding as a rookie. And Benjamin was the #1 target in Carolina.
We told the league the deal and no one had an objection until Bell started going off.

Wow. This whole situation makes my head spin. Did the commish know the terms of the deal when the trade was made? Bc it should have never been allowed if so. That's like 99.9% collusion. If commish didn't know at the time of the trade but only found out when guy who traded bell away started screaming, then both guys shouldn't have been allowed back this year for trying to pass that sneaky shite by the league. Props to the guy if he was actually smart enough (though I doubt it's the case) to get bell by any means necessary... Maybe he just completely outsmarted the other owner by telling him whatever he wanted to hear lol

He needed a receiver and I needed a running back, they looked like they would both have decent years (which they did) so it seemed fair. The Doug Martin part was mainly bc I thought Benjamin may go off and wanted him back more than anything and thought Martin would come out strong. We were up and up about it and told everyone we were doing it, and no one said anything until Bell went off. If Bell did average last year no one would have said anything. Benjamin also had 1000 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns that's not a bad year.

Your entire league, yourself included, sounds pretty pathetic. Trading a player for one week with the agreement to send him back so you can beat someone one week is the definition of collusion. You did it and your league allowed it. You're shitty for colluding and they are shitty for letting it happen and then only want it taken back when you get an advantage.
Also, this isn't your league message board for your league to get together and bicker.

traded Kelvin Benjamin for Bell in week 1 or 2 last season when Doug Martin got hurt with the contingency that I would trade Bell back when Martin was healthy.
Trade back contingencies are bullshite. It is collusion/cheating whatever you want to call it. Y'all need to learn how to play fantasy football if y'all thought this was ok.

They did attend SLU. Explains a lot.

I'm not saying that the trade was bad on either of yalls part in week 1. Especially if the trade helped both teams. They were both the obvious rb1 and wr1 for their teams. The problem was the agreement for a trade back after Martin got healthy. That's collusion 101. If you're hurting at a position, then play the waiver wire or make a trade and stick with it. You could have even got Martin back and traded a rb to another team in need at that time and nothing would have been an issue. But I agree with the poster above, if the league knew and allowed it then they are just as dumb for letting shite like that fly. I really can't take anyone's side in this case or the issue y'all are having with the guy not filling a lineup. Everyone in this league seems dumber than the guy next to him. Play dumb games... Win dumb prizes.

My thoughts, exactly. League is a joke. Just a bunch of whiny pussies and cheaters.

Also two players that are inactive got hurt last week on that roster. It makes complete sense for a person who is not in contention for the playoffs to not look at their lineup the last week, because their season is over and thus they probably aren't concerned about winning or losing.
frick that and frick you if you really believe that. If you make a commitment to play in a league, then you see it through to the end. Not setting your lineup every wk and trying to win is something a little bitch would do and I would think of you as less than a man.

Dear Pot,
Before you call the kettle black, you might want to take a look in the mirror. Cheating includes collusion between two teams. An example of collusion is two teams agreeing to a trade back of traded players.
In my league, anyone who cheats--and that would include you, lionward2014--is automatically kicked out. It just so happens that those owners who have been kicked out of my league (a work league) don't work with us anymore because they proved to be the type of people we didn't want to associate with in any way.
I agree with this post above.
The only way to fix this is for each owner to admit his fault, clean the slate, impose a fee for each week a team loses (we charge $5 per loss, my old league charged $25 for a loss), and adopt a zero tolerance for actual or perceived cheating, then enforce it.

I don't think this thread went the way the OP or the other guy in his league thought it would go for them.

No I mean y'all answered the question, I didn't expect the other guy to come derail it and bring the league drama here. I was genuinely curious if a player taking a dive is something that the commissioner should deal with. As to the trade last year I intended to act in good faith and improve our teams with a fair trade and only expected to need a temporary fix-like soccer teams loaning out players-that ended up lasting all season, didn't realize it would be viewed as collusion, wasn't trying to play dirty (even though I know it is unlikely that y'all will believe that).
Posted on 12/1/15 at 2:33 pm to lionward2014
Well as for the original question, yes. The commissioner should step in if the guy blantantly said he was doing this to keep you out of the playoffs. If he was even slightly smart he would have just played active players but benched his studs. But playing guys on IR makes it obvious.
And maybe you didn't do it intentionally, but it's clear as day that what was done last season was collusion. But clearly your league is comprised of a bunch of people that whine like children and don't know how to properly play the game. Might want to find a new league.

This sounds like a league full of lazy people and cheaters.
I can't muster a single give a frick for what happens with this outcome.
