re: TE is once again an unmitigated disaster..

Last year some a-hole drafted Michael Thomas, Kelce, and Kittle with his first three picks. I drafted Kamara and Tyreek with my first two picks but I completely botched the third round and took Devonta Freeman when I should've taken Aaron Jones, Ertz, or Kittle. He ended up winning first place but it was a really competitive league with 6 out of 10 teams finishing with winning records. But that combo of Kittle and Kelce together every week at TE/Flex was a killer. I copied that model in another league and rolled with Mark Andrews/Jared Cook together with a decent amount of success, but they were both lower volume in catches with higher touchdown upside, so it was a little hit and miss.

time to give up their mandatory roster spot to another flex.
Nah. Everyone had a choice to make at the draft. Draft Kelce with the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick however long he lasted. Some choose wisely, some choose poorly. Kittle was over Kelce in some ADPs.
Another flex just dumbs it down.

With Brees out, is Taysom Hill worth a start over Noah Fant/ Jonnu Miller?

I’m starting Taysom over Jonnu/fant

Dumbass Yahoo has Hill as a QB. Worthless.

If Hill’s designation stays as a TE/QB on ESPN I’m starting him.
The only options available are ceiling of 12, floor of 0 players.

There are all of two tight ends in fantasy who have averaged at least 15 PPR points per game, and one of those (George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers) is injured and unlikely to play again this season. The gap between the No. 1 active tight end (Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs) and the No. 2 option at the position (Darren Waller of the Las Vegas Raiders) is 5.7 PPR points per game—almost a touchdown.
However, the gap between Waller and the 10th-ranked tight ends in points per game (Jimmy Graham of the Chicago Bears) is just 2.7 points per game.

I think it’s dumb they’ve given him TE designation but wouldn’t fault anyone for exploiting it

Disagree, I think adding another flex requires more thought and strategy than TE currently does. Most are just leaving the same guy in their line up every week and hoping for the best. An added flex has more potential to swing weekly match ups, there's no real penalty for missing on TE these last few years because your opponent's TE likely only did marginally better

I push for TE to be a TE/WR spot every year. The funny thing is last year I was GM in a small work league and turned the position into this. I was the one who took Kelce and at times played Kelce in that spot and Jared Cook as flex.

So I wasted an early pick on Waller.
I'm curious to look back at the draft results at end of season and see how bad I screwed up picking Clyde and Waller so early.

I just took a look at the production from my TEs this year. Holy hell. It's bad.
Highest score: 12.9
Lowest score: 1.5
Average score: 5.3
One week with more than eight points. Five weeks with fewer than five points, including three one catch performances.

and what's your record in those games?

I'm 5-5 and currently in 8th in this league. 3rd most points for, but 2nd most points against.
TE has been completely irrelevant to my W/L this year, which is why I'm going to roll the dice on Taysom Hill. If he gets 0 points then I'm not much worse off than usual.
ETA: 4th most points for. Not 3rd.

All the more reason to keep it IMO. Risk reward for one of the good top 3/4 guys, then have to play matchups and watch season for progress
Yea. We need more positional advantages in FF
And TE was loaded last year. It will bounce back

I’m aware
I don't agree with using another flex though. Spending up for one of the top TEs pays off and should be rewarded. It should bounce back some next year.
