i thought it was pretty sick that m. byrd was only owned by 7% of sportsline leagues on opening day..he has batted 5th, 4th, and sometimes 2nd on an everyday basis, just like i expected..dude was way under-rated coming in..
Exactly. I don't understand how no one understands this.
I was the same way... i picked up Jose Guillen, Alex gonzalez Scott Podsednik, and Pudge knowing they would all thrive this year and it paid off in the first few weeks.

is that sarcasm too? my spot is totally different..i had marlon byrd in my starting lineup on opening day..i talked openly about how good he was going to be this year before he did anything..and i drafted or picked him up(before the year started) in all of my leagues..

I doubt that happens.
All the guy said was that Jackson was a steal.
You can doubt it happens but a guy with limited power, decent but not amazing speed and a .270 average playing OF is not a guy you want to be starting every day.
quote:
To get someone late and the draft that outproduces hundreds of other guys is exactly that...a steal.
16th round is not THAT late and he is only "out-producing" other players because of his high BA (which are leading to high R totals).
.376 5 SB 1 HR 23 R is not an earth shattering stat line.
quote:
You had to jump in here and act liek to this point he hasnt been a steal to try and show off your awesome fantasy baseball knowledge.
As a note, the guy right after me posted the exact same thing.

Gerry, what should I do with Mark Teixeira?
Posted on 5/5/10 at 4:20 pm to GynoSandberg
it was gerry, and not gyno, who had utley on his team in this league last year, right?

If this isn't a sarcastic question..
There's no way you can trade him... bite the bullet and trade him in the offseason if you can't handle the bad Aprils.
Posted on 5/5/10 at 4:23 pm to GynoSandberg
To be clear, I don't question gerry's knowledge of fantasy baseball. I question his ability to not act like a douchebag. His entire attitude is totally frickified.

gerry isnt in our league this year
and Marlon Byrd was good last year. and moved from one hitters park to another into another pretty good lineup
in fact he's been good teh last 3 years, but only one as a full time player.
not correcting you, just saying..

Do any of the numbers point to him actually NOT turning it around this season? Sorry, should've clarified.

i agree..that why i liked him so much...he moved to a decent park, with a decent line-up..and he got his first chance to play full time(not to mention promised a spot in the 5 hole(or better)...i know you've watched cubs games...that dude is playing every day like it's his last in the mlb...i heart mb...

i couldnt tell if this was sarcasm or not either..

I bet everyone in every league in the history of ever has had a "guy they liked" that panned out.
you two are just some self horn tooting mufrickas.
act like no one else in the world knows shite.
Fact, there are about 5 people in tdbl I would defer to for fantasy advice before you guys.

I'll play along for clarity's sake. His numbers from virtually every season he's been a pro point to him turning it around...

I'm talking about his numbers thus far this season

Fred had Howard and Utley.
I had Pujols, Kinsler and Longoria.

I've been fondling Cano's balls and reached in every draft for him.
Same with Zito this year.
EVERYONE has their "sleepers" or value picks. Some work out and some don't. No need to dwell on the one guy that panned out.
