I was looking for a backup and checked up on Wentz news during my draft and it said he had returned to practice and should be ready for week 1.

I picked him up very late.

His OC from Philly with better OL and WRs. Gimme Wentz all day.

Shhh. Let him keep up the same rhetoric. It’ll make it that much better when Lance takes the job during the season

I was merely trying to be helpful, this thread asked for our opinions. Both starting QB's are fragile and their rookie backups could very well get some real playing time this season...or not.

You go ahead and take Lance. My league is not a keeper league so I won't even consider either rookies. Don't want to waste a roster spot on someone that may or may not play.

I'm not explaining something that is very clearly the exception, not the rule. There have been 2 first round QBs in the past 5 years that didn't start multiple games as a rookie. It's just Mahomes and Love. Both of whom had pro bowl QBs ahead of them.

So if you want to fixate on something that has happened 2 out of 18 instances, be my guest. I will continue to believe that the thing that has happened 16 out of 18 times is probably what will happen for Lance and the rest of the 2021 rookie QBs.

I’ve already taken Lance in my dynasty league. I think your opinion is way off base, though you’re trying to pass it off as fact. I completely disagree with your opinion because of your obvious disregard to the amount of capital used to draft Lance in the first place.

Same guy that said he was passing on Cook and Kamara to take Henry.

There really is no guarantee that Lance will play or not play. Garappolo did lead them to a Super Bowl appearance. It will all depend on how quickly Lance develops and adapts to the nfl level. He has looked good in preseason but that isn’t a tell all. The capital doesn’t matter in regards to this year. If anything it could be a reason to bring him along slower. QB is different animal that you can really mess up a rookie by starting him before he is ready. They will pick up bad habits/mechanics or get into their own heads trying to do too much.

It will also depend on how well Garappolo plays throughout the season and if he can stay healthy. If Garappolo struggles he may start sooner. If he plays well then they may be content to let Lance watch for a year. Garappolo has been really good at times. His biggest problem is his durability and that he choked in the Super Bowl.

If you actually watched football that year you would know their defense and running game carried that team to the super bowl. Not Jimmy G. Lance is a threat with his legs and arm, which plays right into their bread and butter. The fit is perfect.

They had a good defense and run game but Jimmy also threw the ball for 4000 yards and 27 tds. He also won a shootout with Brees that year so he showed that he is capable. That was literally his only year that he stayed healthy though

Of course the fit is perfect with Trey Lance. That is why they drafted him.

All I’m saying is that there is no guarantee that Trey will start this year. Next year he is the guy without a doubt. However, I hate to say this but there is pretty good chance Jimmy G gets injured at some point and he takes over.

it’s not a guarantee that Lance plays. It’s just extremely likely when you factor in past precedent and Jimmy G’s injury history. And if he does play, he’s in a situation where he could absolutely crush. We want upside on our bench, especially at a position like QB with so many playable options.

Yes, I said that on another thread. I have the 2nd pick in my draft and I'm seriously considering passing on Cook and Kamara for Henry. I'm leaning towards Henry at the moment but may change it up by draft day.

Is it a PPR league? If not then I agree. If it is then I’d seriously have to consider cook and AK before him. However, he will still produce a monstrous amount of points regardless. I don’t think it’s as crazy of a concept as what’s being made though.

I have the second pick and may take Kamara over Cook. I figure they will have similar seasons, but would rather watch Kamara play.

I think this is fine. I don’t think you can go wrong with cook or kamara or Henry honestly. I’d personally, just like the majority, value cook and kamara higher than Henry in ppr, but not in standard leagues.

I think Winston winning the job is huge for Kamara, and with Thomas out you know he’s gonna be the go to guy for the offense.

Cook’s oline was upgraded, and he’s still Dalvin Cook. He’s gonna score a huge amount of points. But as a saints fan, it’s hard for me to pass on kamara for cook as well, if I was in the situation.
