Debate the percentages if you want but have always thought FF is one-third draft, one-third waiver/trades, and the remaining pure luck.

My draft about a B-
My waiver/trade a D- (picked wrong with Haskins over Vidal and Carter over Dowdle). Maybe DJ Moore will improve grade.
Luck is A+. No major injuries yet and 3 wins less than 5 pts.

Record 4-2.

I usually end up with a couple of major helps through Waivers so still time.

You’re giving draft and waivers way too much credit. At least 50-60% luck.

Hmm interesting take.

Draft: A+
Yahoo predicted me to go 14-1.

Waiver/Trade: C
Missed on Haskins over Vidal, hit on Bourne. Traded JCM right before Hapton goes down.

Luck: F-: Nabers, Hampton both on IR.

Result: 4-2 2nd place, but by far the most points scored.

That's not F- luck. Not by a long shot.

Perhaps overstating draft a little but feel like Waivers are huge. Every year down stretch, I have at least two ‘must start’ guys on roster that help me get into playoffs and advance.

Sometimes as simple as picking up the right backup RB to my stud who eventually misses time.

One of my best friends in main league often starts season well but fades because he doesn’t work the waivers or even non waiver pickups.

If you look at the overall W/L records on our site with 25 years of history, the top 4 are most active with Waivers and non Waiver activity.

Draft- I think I did great outside of relying on Nix to be my starting QB. Got Javante Williams for less than $5 in auction. Rating services gave my draft a C, but I think it was easily an A-.

Waiver/trade- Traded Flowers for Jordan Love and Godwin, and just traded Michael Carter for Kupp to fill in at WR due to byes and injuries. Also traded Tracy for Aaron Jones since he is on IR and didn't need Tracy and the guy with Jones needed an RB right away. Have been pretty solid at streaming kickers and defenses. Think a solid A here.

Luck- No major injuries outside banged up Godwin and Jones. Pearsall being banged up has hurt some with WR depth. 3rd in points scored. A+ luck so far.

Record is 6-0. Rating my season an A so far.
