I don’t see this place get a lot of talk around here, but we went for my birthday Saturday night and it was awesome. Highly recommended. As you know, it is Emerils most recent opening- Portuguese food. The atmosphere is gorgeous, but the food is just as impressive. We sat at the bar, which is a U-shaped bar overlooking the kitchen and prep area. We originally had a table, but once they saw it was my birthday they moved us to the bar area for a more celebratory atmosphere.
They brought a complementary glass of sparkling red, and we ordered a bottle of Portuguese red. We started with Jamon croquettes
The dude was carving that Jamon leg and I knew I had to have a plate
Ordered the Iberico Plate and Lettuce (which is quite non-descriptive for what it was). Wonderful warm, grilled salad topped with anchovies Jamon and a Portuguese cheese. Menu just says “lettuce“
Also ordered the Jamon Iberico (House made chips topped with Jamon) and bread plate, which came with three butters
The Mushrooms were probably my favorite thing of the night and is a must order if you ever go. These are apparently hand foraged shrooms. The sauce is so good to dip that bread into. Spectacular
We shared a rice dish called Duck which has lots of shredded duck on the bottom and chorizo mixed in with chorizo slices on top. Very good dish, but we were so full we only got about halfway through.
We finished the night splitting a Basque cheesecake, but I didn’t take any pictures. It was delicious and not overly sweet at all. All in all a very nice restaurant at the top of my return to list. Pretty much followed recommendations from our waitress who did not steer us wrong. Many other things on the menu I want to try.
